Yes, finger guns at an opponent before the finish. Different than gesturing to the crowd or doing a finger wag. It was weird because he won by a thousandth anyhow.

I'm all for allowing taunting IF they are going to allow the tauntee to throw hands with the taunter at the end.

Taunting is a pvssy move if you know the other person isn't allowed to do anything about it. Let people taunt with the knowledge that they might get punched in the mouth for it at the finish.

But you can't do this and WA needs to stop it immediately before it becomes a pandemic of stupidity like we see in other sports where athletes see it, think it's "badass" and then start adopting it. By all means there should be sanctioned fighting. Wanna fight? Sure- implement a penalty box: next race, the runner serves a delayed start (2-3s for the 1500, 5-8 in the 5k?).

There should also be fighting in baseball: if you leave the bullpen or dugout to fight and don't throw a punch, you get suspended
