Since the trials, I've been following CJ Albertson on Strava. I've noticed, that even on easier days, his cadence data is over 190 steps per minute. Yesterday, for example, he logged a run of ~7 miles, averaging 6:31/mi (never going much faster than low 6 minute pace,) and his cadence was 194spm.
I've heard about how a higher cadence can help runners become more efficient, and how "180spm" seems to be a magic number, but I'm surprised to see runners like CJ with cadences much higher than that, (particularly on those easy miles days.) Do you believe this is legitimate data or is it more likely that his watch/device is misreading his cadence? Any other thoughts about the subject?
