Not a lot of running last week but a bit extra cycling.
Mon. 14 km ride in 35 mins. Short on time.
Tue. Day off work. 2 x10 min elliptical sessions either side of a 5 km walk. 37 min kayak session with 2 x hard 9 min efforts. 20 km mountain bike ride 49 mins, 2 laps of my dirt crit loop. Both laps under 25 min which is pretty good for me these days.
Wed. Hill session as per last week. Total of only 5.3 kms in an hour but with 500 metres elevation gain on technical singletrack. 4 x 300m efforts 18% gradient. 3.19 to 3.27. 4 x 115m 25% gradient bush bash 1.43 to 1.50. That is sort of like a 4 x 800 and 4 x 400 session.
Thu. 30 km mountain bike ride in 99 mins. Leg weary easy spin.
Fri. A tougher than planned hour of kayaking. 30 to 40 kph southerly making for tough conditions.
Sat. 37 km mountain bike ride in 110 mins.
Sun. My wife's birthday. I got out for a late run in the forest, 8 km in 46 mins with 7 x 800m pickups.
Just 13 kms of running but 100 kms cycling.
I am happy to keep the running kms low for the moment. I feel I have turned the corner with my hamstring issue but I plan on a cautious approach for the time being.
