Again, this is a job interview. He has to convince them to vote "Yes" for him. He hasn't done a great job so far. And while I'm sure it's certainly not fun for him and his family, it sort of comes with the territory.
There's a reason no one has filed actual criminal charges (despite the constant media whoring from Avenatti who's really starting to overstay his welcome), and unless the FBI turns up something huge then they won't. He's a free man today, and he'll be a free man on Saturday after the vote
It's an investigation into a sexual assault dishonestly used by Senator Feinstein to stall the nomination long enough so they can block it if they eventually win enough seats. The job interview was several weeks ago. If Senators had concerns about things like his judicial temperament based on hundreds of written opinions or videos of live testimony, they could have raised them, but instead they used it for partisan grandstanding (Ruth Bader Ginsburg even criticized them for this).
Yeah, they're politicians. This is the kind of stuff they do. You'd want the Republicans to do the same if it was a liberal judge on the nomination. Seems like you're mad because Democrats are acting like this is about Ford and justice for an alleged act from 35 years ago but I think anyone with half a brain knows Ford's letter was just right place/right time. It's about blocking Kavanaugh (who, by the way, is a sh!t guy and wasn't a good pick back in July before all this came out). So I'm not sure why you're so upset.
People have been wanting the Democrats to play hardball for a while and the alleged sexual assault is good excuse to delay till after midterms in hopes to negotiate a more moderate judge.
