The west coast coach seen in Knoxville is not coach Hoyt. Hoyt's boss is Mike Maynard and he's too key to the program to have any desire to leave. Great staff, great athletes, great incoming recruits, great school, new track, decent weather... not leaving.

Braden? LA is too expensive anyway. You can only live as a pauper for so long. But Frazier is not Braden's boss, Maynard is. Maynard is the boss of everything, the rest are just titles so coaches with extensive experience don't get paid as if they are merely assistant coaches.
Gonna call the last coaching vacancy at Washington State as going to Angela Whyte (on Idaho staff last year after several years as a volunteer) unless there's a holdup because of her Canadian citizenship, although I wish Phipps would just keep Mark MacDonald, who coached CJ Allen to the Pac-12 title and Jeshua Anderson to three NCAA titles in the 400H...

Who said anything about a powerhouse? All he said was that distance runners from Tennessee would go to there or one of the other schools that you selectively omitted from undue criticism. What's the matter, did TWC reject you as an athlete or as a coach in the past?

Word out of Decatuer is that the AD at Millikin is a micro manager who has crazy ideas about how his athletic teams should be run. Him and Shaver butted heads on numerous occasions and the AD forced him out after this season.

Fully funded as in having the full allotment of money allowed by the NAIA. As in, they have multiple guys on full scholarship paying zero to go to school there, including their 45lb freshman who ran 24:30 this year as a true frosh.

I am sure that is a factor, but do they even have a track? If not, they are not as well funded as other programs who have excellent facilities. I hear they are using a local HS track that is in bad shape. That has to hurt recruiting a bit, despite scholarship offers.
