Northwestern competes in various college track & field meets in the Chicago area for track and field as a 'club.' They try to stay local and they will even compete at NCAA Division III schools such as University of Chicago and North Central. Once in a great while they will compete at some national meets.

ALL track ends next year. Not allowed to compete any track meets whatsoever. Women’s cross country only!
Looks to be Griff Graves and Sean Hopkins as assistants with distance.
They will likely need to fill Holland Sherrer's position as he just departed to Mississippi State.

Can he coach anything other than the hammer/weight?
yes. But you can say that about a lot of high level coaches only having success in one event and not others.

Hammer/Weight is not an event area. It’s one event. It would be like a distance coach that only knows how to coach the 10k and nothing else.

That may be a bit of an over simplification. The techniques used to throw the disc or shot (or javelin) differ more so from the hammer/weight as compared to the difference between a 10K and 5K (or likely the 1500 or 800 as well).
But, your point is well-taken - effectively coaching an event area is usually preferred to effectively coaching only one event - regardless of classification (e.g. throw, jump, hurdle, etc...).
Word on the track is that Memphis is looking for a hurdle/long sprint coach...apparently they SC a coach. Rumor is that their might be other coaches exiting . Stay tune.

It looks like this is probably true. I saw the ASUN finals. Thought they all did a good job. Hope they didn't get let go, but if they did, I feel sorry for them. I know one has a job already. Good luck to them all!
