I agree. The justices from Yale -- Thomas, Alito, and Sotomayor -- are mediocre at best, and Kavanaugh is looking like a disaster right now. Let's just confine it to alumni of Harvard Law School.
That's funny. On a serious note, I think we desperately need to expand the court's experience base. A former defense attorney is a seriously needed addition to the bench. Alito in one recent case (just one example of many) indicated that he thought barely anybody had outstanding warrants. I understand why presidents wouldn't want to name a defense attorney, as they would be smeared with whatever crimes they actually defended people from, but this is a ridiculous hole in our justice system. Not just at the Supreme Court either, but throughout state and federal court systems judges are far, far more likely to be former prosecutors than former defense attorneys.
