The bribe isn't really an issue in that story, it's a sidepiece that may highlight the high level of corruption in Kenya to go alongside the already proven high level of cheating among athletes.

The bribe is an integral part of the whole affair, which hopefully will all come out in the fullness of time, in the mean time tea talk is pretty much all there is to go on.

This was a question put to Italian guru, R.Canova, on another thread, the one about predictions for Wanders and Moen in the Oslo 10,000.

Hopefully the Italian wizard will give us his take on the Kiprop allegations, because he (Canova) may have inside info. most of us don't have, having lived in Kenya, almost permanently, for the past 10 years.

you dont have to hope, i will give you a summary of what he would most likely say

-kiprop was out of shape from some mystery injury that came from being stressed about rosa being arrested, because of this he didnt get into shape. he tried to bypass that by using EPO....which makes him a dum dum since he is such top tier EPO wouldnt even get him to 90% aerobic level since he is already there 24/7

-he only ever tried it once, because he was mindweak, but the bribing should make him free and he surely has learned his lesson

after that you, rekrunner, el k, the brojos and countless others will sing praises and claim our sport is clean!

Agreed, the parts of the incident that don't make any sense are all coming from Kiprop.

Except, the entirety of the Russian/RUSADA/National doping program scandal showed how many Grand Canyon sized holes there are in the anti-doping theater program.

He could actually be positive. But, that would not actually mean a case was opened.

He could be testing positive because he didn't pay the right bribe to the right people who could or could not be IAAF officials.

He could be negative because he's clean, but the local T&F federation demanded a bribe.

There is literally no way to know the truth in the current system.
