It is one position that needs better pay. Those guys put their life on the line every day.

But the hospital threw the nurse under the bus. The spokesperson said "we comply with the law, and there are people to deal with the law here, and no employee should defy the law"

How is that throwing the nurse under the bus? Sounds like it is defending the nurse.

rg4 seems to confuse cops and law, that creates his confusion

Agreed.
So many people would be so much better off if they knew they didn't have to obey cops a lot of the time:
"We're going to search your house." - "Not without a warrant"
"Come into the station and talk to us." - "No thank you"
"What can you tell me about so-and-so?" - "I will not answer any questions without a lawyer"
And, sadly, some cops would be so much better off if they knew people didn't have to obey cops all of the time.

As they saying goes, 'It isn't what you say, but how you say it.' You can invoke your right to remain silent, or refuse officers entry into your home, or allow a search of your car. Like any other situation where you tell someone they can't do something, you have to use some tact and common sense. I think the nurse did reasonably well given the situation, so I'm certainly not going to knock her. Sometimes though, despite best efforts, idiots will be idiots, as this cop, ex cop, soon to be ex cop or whatever his employment status is, proved.
The individual whose blood the cops were trying to draw died this past Monday.
The police union is complaining that the footage was released, despite that being in conformity with the law in the state. Somehow they think they should be exempt from public scrutiny.
