Give her a break, she was emotional, exhausted and not in the right frame of mind. I dare you to try holding it together after running in the heat for 2.5 hours and just missing your olympic dream. 4th place hurts, cut her some slack for her reaction, she's human, her intentions are good.

This! Maybe the questions weren't asked at the appropriate time, but she is HONEST, real, and tells the truth. If everyone was as honest as she is being, then maybe we could clean up our sport.

It really is amazing how much animus is hurled at Goucher - both Gouchers, in fact 00 when it is obvious to anyone with half a working cerebrum and a smidgen of research skills (and granted, that excludes probably 85 percent of the regulars here) that Alberto is and always has been as dirty as can be.

Maybe you kids really are naive enough to not understand that no one in the inner sanctum of American running in the early to mid-1980s believes that Salazar himself was a clean athlete. He was far from the only one doping, just as he's not the only coach out there right now employing every trick at his disposal to get an edge, but he's also managed to round out his PED indulgence nicely by being an unwavering prick, something a lot of dopers and dopers-by-proxy manage to not do (like Lagat, for example).

This message board has clearly become unmanageably heavy in "bro" types who would never say this kind of shit about an NOP defector if said defector were a dude and not a woman who -- OMG!!! -- wears her emotions on her sleeve. Go ahead and deceive yourselves about that if you want to, but if a former U.S. Olympian in the 10,000 or the marathon who happened to be male were as persistent in responding to queries about Alberto as Kara has been (and it's not like she's on some relentless Twitter campaign or anything else she herself has set in motion; again, she speaks when some bro-shepherd sticks a mike in her face) most of the same buzzards actively rooting against Kara would be behind this hypothetical runner 100 percent. And if that person also ran a ballsy race to place 4th at the Olympic Trials as one of the oldest runners in the field on a nasty-hot day after dealing with a year or more of serious distractions, you'd be lining up wide-eyed and drooling to take his sweaty dong into your mouths.

Unfortunately, there are those who won't have it. Their runner --Rupp-- must be protected at all costs. It matters not one bit to them whether Rupp is breaking the rules or not.

I just did. I actually thought she ran a great race and was happy to see her finish with a good time but once she opened her mouth her race and time didn't matter. She chose to be a jerk and has gotten called out. End of story. Better to just have congratulated the winners and left it at that.

She ran a pretty good race, considering how atrocious her NY marathon was not so long ago. She's just salty that she can't keep running at the level that she once was. She's 37 for god's sake, how long could she have expected to compete for those top spots? It's a miracle she even made to to the line healthy. Things could have gone a lot worse for her. Textbook narcissist.

Alright I'm going to get straight into it. I've never posted on LR before, and after reading through this atrocious thread, I can tell you with absolute certainty that this is my LAST time posting on here.

Kara Goucher is a class act and a stand up athlete. What she is doing takes courage and strength, something 90% of you fanboy chumps know absolutely nothing about. Do you think it is easy going against the (NIKE/NOP) establishment of the sport, which, by the way is almost CERTAINLY cheating? She knew when she came out with this that there was going to be a backlash, but her integrity was such that she did what she thought was right.

Kara Goucher deserves a GOLD medal. Not for a stupid race but for doing something WAY MORE important than running. She deserves a medal for speaking the truth and not compromising her beliefs just because "that's what she's supposed to do."

Most of the people posting on this thread are too short sighted to even understand what really matters in life.

I'm glad these questions were asked. I'm glad Kara responded EXACTLY THE WAY SHE DID. I'm glad she has passion! If this was any other sport nobody would be crying because she swore. (Oh no! I'll bet very few of you people have any background in REAL SERIOUS training/coaching. I know I'll take a ton of flack for this but... NO, a guy running an 18min 5k does not constitute SERIOUS training.

Kara has been around the top tier of sport for years and years and years. She engages in SERIOUS training. If she is saying something is up, we should probably listen.

Did anyone take a look at the Salazar interview? He comes across as shady and shifty as heck. He can barely look directly at the questioner. Gives a lot of credence to Karas comments. I have no doubt Kara knows something, I just wish she'd be more forthcoming about it. It would shut down a lot of her detractors.

There are not as many anti-Kara posters as the names being used. It's another Salazar public relations (PR) move. His kids (Tony, Maria and Alex), and some hired PR guns, are launching attacks on Kara is a desperate attempt to discredit her. This is a typical AlSal tactic; filled with pure hate.

What the Kara attacks tell you is that Salazar is worried. He is very worried. He is in panic mode. If Salazar has nothing to worry about the mass of Kara attacks wouldn't exist.

Salazar has been in extreme worry mode for some time now. Worried that he can't stop something coming down the pike.

Salazar is posting on LRC. He claims he doesn't spend any time on these forums, but it is obvious that he does. He hates Nikeman because he associates him with LRC. But, why should he care about Nikeman at all?
