This guy can tell tall tales about his days with Sampras and Kennedy all he wants, I really don't care. But when he's taking hundreds of thousands of dollars in government grants, examining criminal evidence, lecturing kids, and passing himself off as an authority on everything from computer forensics to bullying to cyber security, we should probably delve a bit deeper into his background. And given his dubious claims about having a PhD, having four books published, having an MA from Harvard, and having industry experience dating back to when he was 16, I wonder what other lies he's told to get to where he is. I'm sure his employers might like to know.

My guess is he is THAT guy. We all know people like this. He has only gotten away with it so far because he works at a mediocre state college in Alabama. They would have flushed him out even before the job interview if he tired to pull this in private sector. How gullible and stupid does one have to be to believe any of his stories and write about it?

So who will be the one to do something about it and make it known?

Wejo should write a short article. The MCM Price is just a footnote to Troy Price at this point. The guy cheated but he is not in the league of Kip nor was he a self-righteous prick like Rossi. Troy Price is a whole different story. Don't they have a track coach at Troy? I mean anyone with a hint of interest in T&F would have seen through the holes in his novel.

I know plenty of people on here really want that 2014 result wiped, since he used it to get into 2016 Boston Marathon.

Either way, the BAA will be getting an email tomorrow morning from me with the facts as they stand, including screenshots and letting them know of the 2015 disqualification. While the 2014 result may still be up, they will hopefully see the pattern of behavior and do something about it.

I would like to hear his side of the allegations (are they considered allegations anymore if the race dq'd you from the 2015 race, after being alerted?).

I sometimes think BAA gets off on the Boston Qualifer cheaters; wow, if someone goes to these lengths to get into our race we must be the cat's pajamas.

I feel like I should set the record straight here. Greg Price never won a set on me.

We played in a warm up match for the U.S. Open back in '93. I won a hard fought first set, 7-5, but then Greg got a leg up on me in the second. He was leading 6-5 when heavy rains caused the match to be postponed, and I won the second set the next day in a tiebreaker.

I gotta say though, he gave me a hell of a fight at the height of my career.

Greg Price? Oh yea I remember that guy. Back in 92 he was a phenom straight outta high school and ran in the olympic trials. He actually led most of the race before fading back to fourth place. After the race there was some confusion over whether he was too young to be in the olympic trials, and they ended up disqualifying him and striking his name from the results.

He had more bad luck in 96 in the 10k qualifying race. While he finished in fourth place 41 seconds back, he actually should have made the team as the alternate after someone else was busted for PEDs. Unfortunately he had gotten his race bib mixed up before the race with another runner who ended up dropping out, and he never got to go to Atlanta.

I took pity on him after that and brought him on as a pacing partner. I gotta say, he was the best damn pacing partner I ever saw. His philosophy was a simple one: run as hard as you can, for as long as you can. He helped push me to run sub 13, although I wasn't actually the first non-African to do that like people think- Greg Price was. He did it in one of his crazy pacing partner sessions though, so it wasn't official.

Last I heard of him he was a renowned kiddie porn investigator, bestselling author of IT books, and the recipient of the International Laureate. I think that's the same as a Nobel laureate.

So the standard for the Olympic trials in 1996 at 10k was 28:33, add 41 seconds and we have 29:14. So I take it he ran 29:14 somewhere maybe on his own on a track or maybe in a race. Or the secondary standard was 29:24

add 41 seconds and he runs 30:05.

Per the Troy University Track Media Guide,

the current school records for 10k is:

Jeff Wenenbeck 29:45 1982

Steve Venable 30:04 1981

Chris Palmer 30:21 1986

Enock Kirui 30:27 2011

So at 30:05 he would have been the 3rd fastest time ever for a member of the Troy State track team, if he was on the team.

Very easy to cut the course between 10k and 15k. The outbound runners are in touching distance of the inbound runners for most of this out and back (Rock Creek parkway), piece of cake to slide across the small median and join the inbound runners. I have to admit, I was pretty surprised that there was no timing mat at the turnaround.

According to the article from this year, he runs over 20 miles everyday. If he spends five hours running each day, it's pretty amazing he has time to work a job, volunteer, and write those books.

Don't forget the extra time he must spend eating. I'm surprised he looks the way he does if he's burning an additional 2000+ calories per day running.

It would make a good 1-on-1 confessional interview! I just find it interesting that MCM Price appears to have been legitimate and above average and then as age has caught up with him he has felt the need to cheat to maintain his times.

Don't get me wrong, Troy Price is fascinating too - a complete and utter fantasist. Who knows what else he has claimed in the past.
