I'd be seriously pissed off if someone posted in my name that I ran a race with Kip and could vouch for him. That would be suggesting that I cheated along with him.

And I don't believe for a second that Piggott actually posted that nonsense. Someone with his resume would probably have a little more respect for the sport than that. I wonder if it was Kip himself that did it, or if it was some idiot from an online service (reputation.com?) that just randomly picked a name off of a results page.

They probably should have chosen a different name.

According to the all the expert runners at Let's Run, NO ONE EVER starts in the back to pass runners for charity, and yet here we are. More proof and a logical explanation there was no cheating. Time to concede that our good friend Kip is in fact totally legit.

Someone may have picked Piggott's name because of the odd differential between his gun and net times in that 2010 race??? Glad there was that article explaining why Mr. Piggott started in the back of the pack. A quick check of Mr. Piggott's results shows nothing suspicious. No missed timing mats, no odd split times, etc.

I am one of those visiting the Kip Litton thread.

A few days ago, a thread titled "Who's the greatest runner from you state" popped up. A poster from my homestate, Michigan, wrote Kip Litton. I thought "who is Kip Litton"? I googled it and became fascinated with the story. I got hooked and kept reading up on it. I read through several portions of the Kip Litton thread.

Yes, I remember that Piggot was one of the faster runners in the DC area about 10 years ago or so.

My guess is that the real Piggot did not post that message.

I had a Cystic Fibrosis fundraiser at my house in 2009. Kip and his wife attended it, at which time they made a donation of $200 in cash. Later, when I learned that he was running races to raise funds for CF, I visited his website and subsequently made a donation of $100 by using my credit card. In all probability, neither of these donations would show up in records under Kip's name. I am aware of others also doing this. For anyone, anywhere to state that Kip Litton has NOT made sizable donations to CF and other causes is absolutely lying and trying to mislead people. This is completely unfair. Maybe that's why someone called this a witch hunt.

So, you know that Kip made a $200 donation. You consider that a "considerable donation"? Based on his extensive fundraising and endeavors, I would consider something like $20,000 to be a considerable donation.

I know Piggott as an acquaitance and highly doubt he'd come on letsrun to defend a fraud like Kipp, especially as the first post under his own name. Someone should ask him at a race.

What's fishy is that Kip set up a website in order to raise money for CF, but the website requested 1) a check made out to World Record Run or 2) a donation to a personal Paypal account. While it's true that you could also directly donate to the CF charity, that would defeat the purpose of his practice starting at the back of the field. In fact, there was no way on his website to donate a set amount for every person he passed. That was his schtick for starting in last place every race, but as far as I can tell, it wouldn't affect his fundraising in the least. If you have evidence to the contrary, present it.

If Kip was simply collecting donations and forwarding them to a registered charity, there would be a record of this transaction. The CF charity to which these donations were supposedly made has no record of Kip donating anything more than $20. At the very least, why wouldn't he tabulate the donations on his website in order to show his supporters how much money has been raised?

The foolish statement in the article that claimed only $20 in donations was actually one of several red flags that the people who know Kip picked up on and helped us confirm that many of the other running allegations were most likely also untrue. We have been with him at fundraisers. He has always generously supported our charities, as well as CF- ask anyone. To claim he only made $20 in donations is a ludicrous joke!

Then prove it. If he's making donations to registered non-profits, he's getting receipts. Even if he doesn't use them for deductions on his taxes, he's getting receipts. So far one charity has confirmed a single donation of $20. It should be easy for him to list the other charities.

In addition, as the agent for non-profits (i.e., he's collecting money for non-profits), he should have a list of donors and funds raised.

I have a feeling I'm just asking for proof from a troll, but Kip, if you really are out there, let's see the evidence.

You are asking proof from a troll as any intelligent human being knows that these things just don't add up. I would be surprised if even Kip himself would waste his time posting on here as what would he get from it?

He knowingly left the course for allegedly no other reason than to get to the finish line quicker without actually running. The Crim? A Free Press Relay? No excuse period.

The original thread may have attracted attention outside the running community, but only letsrunners are going to bother with this thread. Anonymous defenders are just yahoos yanking chains.

Doesn't seem fishy to me at all.As I recall the site accepted credit cards but offered a couple other options for those who didn't have one.I was gonna make a donation based on runners passed so I clicked on the instructions for that, which involved emailing my pledge to Kip. I decided it would be much easier to just donate a set amount.I did see on the site the amount raised at that point, but I can't remember, maybe you had to donate first to get to that. It looked like a decent site. I recommended it to a couple of my friends and they told me they also made made donations..Should I address you as detective? You sound a bit paranoid.

To the dolts who expect some of us who know Kip to reveal our real names- are you F'n CRAZY?? Dan Baxley is innocent- look what you did to him. Kip Litton is innocent- look what you did to him. We are innocent also but have no interest in you exercising your juvenile and depraved minds to drag us through the mud. Case closed.
