I'm sorry, but Wesley Keating pounded Koborsi in high school and has continued to destroy him in college. Both same year, Keating from PSJA-North in the Valley. Have had the opportunity of running with both. Great runners, but don't overlook Keating, and if we're talking Texas, than Ben Dawson takes the cake with Kyle King in there as well and Nathan Flores of SFA up there as well over 10K.
Hey JAW224, you added a few great ones that I missed earlier. Did you run at Univ of Illinois in the early-mid-1980's?
Some of these have already been mentioned for Connecticut but some are new:
Jonny Kelley (The Younger)
Amby Burfoot
Boston Billy Rogers
Jan Merrill-(Morin)
Dan Wilson
Jerome Young
Lindy Remigino
Mike Remigino
John Flora
Liz Mueller
Joe Lemay
Joe McClusky
Bruce Jenner (not really a runner but worth noting)

Here are Iowa's top male Milers that I know of and probably the four best all-time Iowa men:
Outdoor Mile:
Randy Wilson 3:58.74 (Eugene in 1984)
Jerome Howe 3:59.2 (Durham in 1975)
1500m:
Jerome Howe 3:38.20 (Seatle 1972)
Blake Boldon 3:42.74 (Knoxville 2003)
Matt Gabrielson 3:42.?? (?)
Indoor Mile:
Jerome Howe 4:02.3ht (LSU 1972)
Blake Boldon 4:03.63 (Ames 2003)
Matt Gabrielson ran 4:04.06 (don't know if it was indoor or out or when)
Boldon (Southwest Missouri State grad) and Gabrielson (Drake grad) are the only ones who are still around.

Sorry bud, but Marc, as good as he is, isn't even the best NJ guy on his TEAM. Fasulo takes that title.
A few more from Az... I think they all went to high school here.
Chuck LaBenz
Ed Mendoza
Don Janicki
Tom Ansberry
Bo Reed
Dave Barney
Art Menchaca
Brandon Strong
Joan Hansen

Sean Graham (William & Mary All-American & Stillwater Area runner.)
Jay Schoenfelder
Joey Keillor
Kelly Mortensen
Janis Klecker (1992 Olympic Marathoner)
How about John Glidewell!
bill rogers is from newington ct, i think amby burfoot is from like groton or new london, they stayed in state for college, frank shorter is from middletown ny, went to prep school in RI and went then went to yale--wouldnt claim him as one of our own
if CO is putting fairchild on their list, we should have liz mueller on ours, plus, she can knock you out w/ a right hook
Also from PA
Eric Carter, 23:51 course record at Van Cortlandt before the renovations. That record has withstood the test of time.
When Penn State ran 7:11 in the 4x8 at Penn. All the guys on that team were from PA
