I think Hocker had the better finish but worse positioning
Pretty much perfect from Kerr.
Ran alongside Hocker and boxed him during the penultimate lap. Went at the bell and forced Hocker out wide to chase him. Hocker has the fastest finish but he insists on the rail.
That was stone cold Championship racing from Kerr.
Don't understand why Cole waited so long there. He had several opportunities to move up in the last 500m but waited until 200m and didn't have enough room to kick down Kerr. His kick is amazing but not so much better in slow races like that
Yeah it sucks to get bumped, but you don't then get to lean on the runner in front of you.
Yes you do. Official results with Garcia dq’d but not Hull.
No, you don't.
Hull is protected, especially as a medalist in the race. No chance of the golden girl losing silver for a DQ that is borderline to fans. (Even if it's clear to people with knowledge.)
Hocker gets this reputation as a master tactician, but it's his brilliant kick that gets him out of trouble again and again. This time he just put himself way too far back even though he closed like a train
I'm calling Kerr FTW. Suspecting Hocker gets into a bad position again. Though rooting for Nuguse/Beamish.
Called it. Hocker needs to drop his strategy of leading at a decent pace, letting people pass him, and getting shuffled back into a bad position on the inside. It's exactly what he's done in so many races, and he clearly can't rely on the rail opening up. He's fit enough that he can afford to run a little extra distance staying on the outside of lane. That's what Kerr did today.
Congrats to Kerr, very well raced but let’s be fair, if Ingebrit was there he’d have obliterated the lot of them and the times would have been a lot quicker
get well soon Jacob. Races are much duller without you
