I really think this is true. The Stephen Millers of the party are drooling and licking their chops at how they can (and are) using this as an opportunity to take more control and gain power, and more rapidly undermine/erode our rights, like with this Kimmel issue - clearly a first amendment violation. AND for a statement where there's nothing factually incorrect about it. They're taking what are mostly innocuous comments on social media and creating a database of people that they didn't like the comments of, attacking them and their employers and demanding that people be fired. We seem to be at a point where there is little to no pushback because of fear of how the government will retaliate.

We have much evidence that the Trump admin loves chaos and violence to power grab.
Jan 6th was designed to be a huge battle between antifa and Trumpers. This would allow Trump to delay certification to stay in power through generating a constitutional crisis. But the counter protest wisely stayed home. All that was left was Trumpers ransacking the capitol.
Trump also wants protesters to battle with his national guard troops on city streets to prove we have a serious war going on to increase his power grab. He’s dying for violence. Fox News plays those protest clips on repeat all day long to get citizens to believe there is anarchy so Trump can do extra constitutional things.
