Worlds 100m going to be interesting. Lyles clearly still getting into shape and improving every race. Kishane doesn’t seem 100% healthy but is getting his form back. Kenny might have peaked too early this year.
Anyone else see how much Thompson drifted in the lane in that overhead shot? He was almost into lane 6 midway through, but then he went the other way near the finish line and almost finished in lane 4. It didn't hurt him today, but he can't do that at Worlds. Lyles is closing the gap and that sort of mistake could cost him the gold medal.
Noah is still the top American and is rounding into form. Kishane is still the guy to beat rn. Should set up for an interesting Worlds. I don't buy into calling Kishane a choker off of one tight Olympic finals which it seems like a lot of people have gotten into calling him.
That’s what the live page showed for the first two laps, but it’s apparently inaccurate, which isn’t surprising because going 57.7 on lap two would be beyond insane.
Lyles 2nd 100m of the season and only .03 behind Thompson here. He should be ready to challenge seriously at worlds
It was a great run for Lyles. well clear of Kenny. He's always slow to get into 100 shape. I think he put a scare in Thompson, the gold will be well defended come September. We all just love to count him out in the 100 and he keeps proving everybody wrong. Team Lyles!!
3:54 with that range is awesome and should be celebrated, but unfair to compare to Hassan who is probably the range GOAT
People were talking wr, and certainly sub 3:51. She was dusted by Tsegay, so no, a disappointing run imo.
Tsegay ran her own race, in a way that no sane person would attempt. So chebet basically ran the race that was given to her. SHe put several meters on the remaining field on the final lap.
it's not an event she specifically trains for. she's an immense strength runner. She can and will get much faster.
I think most people on this board are pretty disappointed by Chebet's run. She's no Hassan it seens, at least not today. Tsegay shows what she can do if she sort of controls herself over the first 800. Was hoping for a little more from Hiltz. She's still just outside a favorite for a medal next month with no signs that's yet changed.
No, we aren't she just became the second fastest Kenyan in her first real 1500m
3.54 is a debut performance and she beat the Olympic bronze medalist
Honestly the Diamond League world feed is "field and track" and this is one reason why schemes like Grand Slam keep popping up, because they know in theory it can be done better for actual fans of running. Not that Grand Slam figured it out...
i understand that, but cutting in during a 3000 wr attempt on meaningless jumps is unacceptable.
No I agree with you, I was pointing out the poor skewing by saying "field and track" rather than "track and field". If no dedicated track feed (along with the 3 other dedicated jump/throw feeds), then at least don't skip half of the key races on the combined world feed.
Kenny not even fast enough to be the runner up princess this time.
All these guys running fast times in D tier races, never show up when the best are out there.
Kenny ran his 9.79 PB at the U.S. championships. I wouldn't call the U.S. championships a "D tier" race. Kenny is also a three-time global championship silver medalist. He has an established track record of showing up when facing the best in the biggest races.
