I may not have the looks, but I am suprr comfortable financially and happily married with kids, so I'm just fine and that opinion isn't just mine. The guy is an a-hole...and I'd never use my mom as a cover story for a fast (or not so fast, in his case) buck. So classy.
First 28k looks genuine ~120 HR. Back to the usual ~100 HR for the next 70k whilst running at a faster pace. Then a walk for the final 10k at ~ 120 HR . His HR is higher in the final 10k when he is walking!

The crew forgot to put the tape on the watch sensor. Caught it at the morning pie stop. Duh.
Goodge has raised approx £3k so far across the UK, US and Aus donation platforms. It's interesting that he isn't promoting the donation links on his social media posts. Every day there is a tagged post for the Cadence drink but nothing for the charities.
I don't support Goodge but I don't think it's correct to say he's diverting sponsorship money from quality ultra runners. The companies sponsoring this run e.g. Represent, Cadence, Vuori, Headstrong weren't involved in ultrarunning before he came along. He's managed to bring money in to his stylised version of the sport for his own benefit.
Yeah, your right. Other influencers are taking money from elite ultrarunners because brands are cutting back on their sponsorship budgets for elite runners whilst giving more funds to influencers.
But Goodge bucks this trend by being sponsored by different tyoesnof companies, like general fashion, supplements, or pure snake oil lile Nucalm.
I think it's quite suspicious that Goodge never seems to have had a shoe sponsor. Transcon runs would be ideal for shoe sponsors. But they may bring more scrutiny and not want to be associated with a fraud. Much safer to get sponsored by companies run by your mates, or mates of your mates, that aren't actually directly involved in the running industry.
So in this sense he IS taking away opportunities from legitimate athletes-- people who might have both a story to sell and the ability to actually do the running. And, really, it would be an interesting spectacle with today's tech to watch someone try to run 100km+/day through some of the most remote parts of AUS, ravaged by the effort and the elements as they'd be-- much more compelling than watching some gym fit fraud prancing around, then trolling people in his feeds. (And, yeah, I suppose there's grudging respect for this guy's sheer chutzpah, but that's as far as it goes).
Pete Kostelnick who holds the US Transcon record at about 120k a day will also be going for the TransAus record in the autumn. So if he's on top form he should beat ut, and he's already said that whatever Goodge does, he'll beat it by 5 days.
I plan to do it myself, by I'll be concentrating on getting big distances in 6 and 10 day races first, before trying to raise sponsorship.
Granted, it's for a good cause, but her only credentials are a previous run in 2023 when she dribbled a soccer ball for 1,000km from Gold Coast to Sydney over the course of 34 days. That's less than 30km a day. Her goal for this run is 110km a day which is a vastly different beast.
Not a great headline. I don't think she's actually running in support of domestic violence!
On her first post on the morning of day 2 she's saying that it's even harder than she expected! Another numpty that doesn't have a clue about multiday running. 😄

Almost identical pattern in the HR data for the past few runs... Can't figure out what it is but it doesn't look good - Normal-ish looking HR for this kind of effort up to c.30km but then it drops to the flat line we are used to seeing of around 100bpm.
Also what is with the spikes up to 130+ after every stop before it stabilises, very strange indeed!

Wll C is absolutely correct here but he reached the stage a long time ago where he needs to let everyone else work it out. In the previous farce the troll/fanboy/apologist just wound him up and made him seem less credible.

He has worked out how to game his watch, but the downside is he can't get a reasonable hr.
It's plain as day, we just need to duplicate it.

Run your cursor over the last climb (around mile 57) and you notice something interesting. The elevation is clearly changing as hes climbing, yet the grade appears as 0% and his HR stays low and steady. Ive noticed this on other days too. His HR does not match terrain. You can argue that different people have different HRs when they run slow and steady, but EVERYONES HR increases as you climb.
IDK how hes doing all this but there is no way this is legit.
And of course as always on his Instag he looks fresh and strong, like hes half way thru day 1.
