Would love to see Hocker start challenging Yared. He looks really good right now.

Hocker just made a 3:48 miler into a total non factor. As good as he was in 2021 he looks even stronger now. I think he will contend for a medal outdoors and a gold if it doesn’t turn into a time trial

Jakob makes the championship race basically a crowded time trial. USAs will be the real test. Hocker healthy with Yared having to make the pace is very interesting.

Yeah, decent chance of a time trial championship, but who knows, maybe Jakob will try something else after getting out kicked 2 years in a row. If it is 3:29 or slower I think Hocker has a chance. I expected him to be thrilled with the 8:05 but he seemed disappointed. Makes me think training is going really good this year
Who’s got the altitude conversion? Hocker notably has done nothing in his life at altitude
If Hocker can stay healthy all year, he’s going to be in the running for a medal in Paris. By the summer he may be ready to even defeat Yared at the trials. Going to be a great race.

Hocker looks great but it’s a long way to 3:43
You think the US trials is going to be a 3:28 race? No, it’s going to be much slower and I think there will be a chance Hocker can take down Yared at the end. Hocker may be the Kerr to Yared’s Jakob.
