Looking at the Safesport discipline list on USTAF.ORG, a few things stick out.

1) Out of the perhaps 60 or so names ( a guess), the majority have criminal proceedings associated with the Safesport Discipline Action, particularly permanent bans.

2) Only 3 people with permanent bans have sexual misconduct without criminal charges. One I looked up was a coach who was in a hotel room alone with a minor. (Hopefully, it seemed nothing more happened). So no criminal charges are rare when it comes to bans.

3) Al Sal was the only one listed whose behavior was listed as "emotional misconduct" on the whole sheet. They also tagged him with sexual misconduct, joining one of the few who are banned for this reason without criminal charges.

4) If one just looked at the data, Salazar appears to be an outlier. He joins just a few others on the perma-ban list without charges, and he has his own unique charge-emotional misconduct.

It seems that Safesport doesn't like the guy.

Carmine9 appears all of a sudden one month ago and already had 1238 posts as of a few days ago, pretty much all on COVID vaccination. Now he's here. The phrase "pile of poop" that he uses here does not appear much in a search, the last use being that of "Lead Foil Hat X."

This safe sport stuff is rather vague and leaves me guessing he was a low key perv, probably meandered into a shower or locker room while an athlete was nude. Or evening pep talks in his hotel room on the bed wearing unlined shorts.

Intro of the Al Sal road racing book mentions how no one will care if a runner is fast or slow, tall or short, thick or thin.

I trained with him in High School.

He brought me from a lousy 11 min 3k to 8:58 3k within 4 years. Plus about 30+ runners on our team, we all improved IMMENSELY. No gimmicks. Just tough training and intense competition.

Other runners from other high schools were begging to come to our workouts.

The dude is intense, yes. But he was a superior coach.

We went from a nobody school to REPEAT Oregon State Champs in 2-3 years.

Male coaches will steer clear of female runners going forward. Not worth the hassle. Mark Coogan and Elle Purrier have a good thing, but that will become less common. We'll find out soon enough if high quality female coaches will step into the break. Perhaps Mary Cain's little running group Atalanta NY will produce champions. Or not. Time will tell.

Letsrun worships a sleazebag like Hadsell who sleeps with his college athletes, but when a pro coach (Salazar) says an athlete needs to lose weight and then MAYBE flirts with an athlete everyone says he should be banned from the sport and put in prison.

I think a significant number will, esp when coaching is is done for free in the UK.

Add to this the general woke constraints and health and safety and top coaches are giving up.

Why would anyone work with women?
