I wasn't quite 100% this week after the throat infection from last weekend. No it's not covid! We haven't had any cases for a month now.
I dodged a few steep climbs on the runs and bikes just to keep intensity in the comfort zone. Resting HR was up a bit all week .
Mon. 4 plus steep single track hiking kms up and down 160 metres.
67 mins of kayaking on the lake. Regulation high winds and bumpy water, just cruising along.
Tue. 2.5 km steep single track hiking up and down 150 metres.
Windy ride on the road bike about 43 kms. Stopped the Garmin at 36 to grab a drink from the shop then missed a couple of k before restarting for last 5 km.
The 36 was in 90 mins (30 kph winds and nearly 300 metres elevation). That last hilly 5 in 11 mins.
Wed. 12.1 km running in the forest, skipped the steep hilly section I would normally run. 69 mins. Pretty cruisy.
Thu. 3 km steep single track hiking up and down 150 metres.
69 mins kayaking on the lake, not too windy for a change.
Fri. Picked up new mountain bike. It is a 1 x front ring 12 speed. Good for my barely functioning left thumb as I will only change gears right handed now.
Took it out for 36 mixed kms to test it out. 100 mins of riding.
Sat. Stopped at Pyalong on my way down to Melbourne.
Ran a nice 13 kms up and down 300 metres of elevation. 80 mins feeling good.
We were attending my nephew's 50th b'day party in Chinatown and stayed overnight in the CBD.
Sun. I had hoped to get another ride and run in but didn't get back home until 4pm. It was raining heavily so I just ran 11.3 kms in the forest in 63 mins. I did start to pick it up after 8 km but felt a bit tight in the left calf so just backed it off.
A good week really. A bit short on bike kms but running kms back where I wanted them. I missed a few of my hikes as life got in the way. I still managed 120,000 steps for the week according to Garmin.
I am hoping to be able to put a bit more effort into the sessions this week.
XC season starts mid April.
