Greetings, fellow 50+ers! Despite some nagging hammy soreness, I was able to complete 23.8 miles of actual running this week. ?That included the longest run I’ve done in a couple of years as well as a challenging stretch of running 4 out of 6 days.
I’ve been able to work around the hammy issue by reducing my pace and avoiding fartlek and certain post-run exercises. I don’t want to jinx myself, but it does seem to be slowly improving. I’ll continue with the heat and massage in hopes that the improvement continues. Given the health challenges some of you are facing, I know I’m lucky at this age to be able to run with only some occasional soreness. Please excuse my whining.
The snow is finally gone and I even did a couple runs this week in shorts. The forecast is for a late winter “heat wave” later this week with temps possibly into the 50s. I am soooo ready for spring, but also realize we likely haven’t seen the last of the snow. Oh well, life is good!
