This thread was deleted by a volunteer moderator. I certainly don't want a thread this big deleted so I've restored. THat being said, this thread has served it's purpose. I've closed it to new posts.
We have a new 2024 vaccine thread here. New people don't need to try to wade through 20,000 posts to figure out what is going on.
I agree and it’s never not been this way. Elderly, obese with comorbidities, and immunocompromised were always the target group for these vaccines, and I don’t really recall anyone here saying otherwise, but they may have.
But Harambe has to group everyone in as an antivaxxer without allowing the nuance of different risk strata, in which case it always should’ve been a personal choice, not a quasi-mandate, which it was. If you are a typical letsrunner, say 30-50 years old, fit, and in very good health, there were some very simple things to do to mitigate the flu. Not talking about hydroxychloroquine here.
My point, lost on Haram-2600bro, was that of that latter group, most endured Delta and built up significant immunity so that Omicron was a big nothing burger, though it did enhance immunity and all but end the pandemic. But he wants to focus on the 300,000 who died, 95% of whom absolutely should’ve been vaccinated, and nobody ever said otherwise. He just can not come off of that disingenuous talking point, just like he can’t allow for the fact the Djokovic is extremely healthy, still playing at an exceptionally high level for a 36+ year old, and has better immunity than almost any vaccinated person.
I’m sure my buddy, whose career now hangs in the balance because of idiopathic right BBB, has some regrets he didn’t follow Djokovic’s lead.
If you only care about avoiding death - sure you can say “only the highest risk should be vaccinated”
But we are a civilized society that wants to decrease overall suffering. So most people understand vaccination will reduce their chance of infection, symptoms, chance of missing work/family life, chance of hospitalization, chance of long term issues … etc.
Saying “the vaccine didn’t stop healthy people from dying (even if it did save thousands of healthy lives) is very dumb and myopic”
But I do get that you have to argue stupid points to even sound mentally functional
Focus on the millions of hospitalizations, missed days of work, deaths, long term lung damage, etc. all of it!
Without vaccination there would be many many many more cases of each of these. Even post Omicron.

So once again, you are and always were on board with the quasi-mandate. Which was obvious. You authoritarian types always are (especially because you live in an echo chamber of other scientists, fancying yourself so much smarter than everyone else, therefore, you have to be right).
Preventing getting sick is not realistic in the Petri dish of a world we live in. The Petri dish trains the immune system and you simply cannot vaccinate every disease away, even with 500 vaccines given to children under age 2.
There are diseases where cultivating natural immunity, if possible is an absolutely brilliant and best strategy. There are also diseases where vaccines, antivirals, and antibacterials are absolutely necessary. But not Covid, not for everyone, and I would argue that vaccination has prolonged the pandemic, if mitigating it “overall.” I don’t care about one study from South Africa.
Healthy people die of the flu every year. You cannot stop death. Moreover, long-vax (or post-vaccination syndrome according to Yale) is real. The lines are blurred and we don’t have enough good data to prove that the vaccines, in some way, didn’t contribute to long Covid.
But you hatred for Djokovic is quite unnatural and unhealthy.
Because Djokovic went against the medical orthodoxy and dogma and won. Then he kept on winning.
I hope he’s taking his nattokinase to pull himself out of long Covid, poor guy.
Djokovic is definitely the winner in all this.
Victory lap for the Joker. 🇷🇸🏃🇷🇸
He is and he will go down in history as the greatest player ever to play the game and an icon for those who wouldn’t just blindly follow dogma. Very much to Harambro’s chagrin. It’s already happened. That’s the reason for the unhealthy preoccupation.

1) COVID has killed more people than polio or measles ever did in the US
2) “You cannot stop death” “Preventing people getting sick is not realistic” —— millions less hospitalizations, missed work days, and days after vaccination. But because it’s not 100% effective it’s not worth it? What?
3) There is no population which the risks of the vaccine are even within an order of magnitude of the benefits from it.
It’s kinda boring seeing the same arguments from 2022 trotted out daily.
“It’s not 100% effective so it’s useless! Deaths don’t matter for younger people! Mass vaccine injuries are just around the corner!”
Ill keep waiting for the evidence to flip and keep taking my victory laps.

Nobody is saying it was useless or that it didn’t matter for young people, as long as they had agency in the decision. All the histrionics from you won’t ever make it otherwise. Additionally, yes, a huge number of otherwise young and healthy people cultivated durable natural immunity (proving your initial sentiments here in err and boy does that f ing piss you off -better to be lucky than smart, eh, lol?) and there are literally millions of severely vax-injured. Again, no amount of pontificating by you changes it.
So keep on keeping on with your 300k deaths matter, because it’s all you have, even though the talking point has been completely disarmed. Get out and play a game of tennis already. Djokovic is, despite his horrendous long Covid symptoms.

1) anyone could choose not get vaccinated, their employers or schools also had a right to refuse free association with them.
2) millions of vax injuries - yeah there is it - your whole worldview depends on non existent mass longterm damage from vaccination. Yawn. Boring. Stupid.
Exactly! I’m not saying everyone should get the vaccine because Chokervic is washed. Im not telling you what to do. It’s just an observation. You’re are free to go “that’s just his opinion, I don’t believe it, I will ignore it.” But you can’t.
If you are not obese or super old, you should not even consider slamming that fake vaccine into your system, else you will eventually die by the sword you wield. Even the obese would do much better just running off the fat. no runners dead yet. only thing saving the foolish is that they quit taking the boosters they push
300k dead Americans, many of them under 50 with families, would disagree.
He is and he will go down in history as the greatest player ever to play the game and an icon for those who wouldn’t just blindly follow dogma. Very much to Harambro’s chagrin. It’s already happened. That’s the reason for the unhealthy preoccupation.
His accomplishments after he got Covid are what pushed him to GOAT status. Without those wins he would be relegated to only 2nd or 3rd greatest.
The fact that he became the GOAT only after getting Covid is what really bothers Harambro.

The delta wave killed thousands of “normal” people under 50. Vaccination would have saved them. You spread propaganda that convinced them otherwise. Shameful. Chokervic did the same. Murderous.

You are objectively wrong. Just take the loss for this silly little tirade you’ve been on. Repeatedly people have shown you legitimate reasons why he was is and continues to be the best player in the world. Until you can actually articulate a single reason why he isn’t other than I told you so then the facts are the facts. And the facts so you’re wrong, you’re engaging in dumb dishonest arguments for dogmatic reasons. And you keep making yourself look more and more foolish no matter how smug you are. Unless you can come up with a coherent argument, you have lost. You're being embarrassed. Period. End of story.
