If I had to take guess for Columbia, I would say either internal hire or Kevin Jermyn from Duke. The reason I say Kevin Jermyn is because he has experience recruiting in a strong academic environment. He consistently got great recruits (although he didnt do much with them). However, I think if this was the case, the announcement would have come out at the same time as his resignation. Thats why I am leaning towards internal hire, maybe Liam BP.
No idea who Columbia will hire, but IF it is or will be Kevin J, the announcement would not come out at the same time. The timeline would be he accepts job offer from Columbia, resigns position at Duke, the announcement would come pending completion of a background check. That's why there is usually a delay between someone reporting a job has been filled and the announcement afterwards.
BAS had her UT/PSU announcements on the same day. While you may be right, I dont think anyone would resign until they have signed a contract (and that wont happen until the background check clears).
Kevin Jermyn's wife just accepted a job in Raleigh. I think he genuinely left the program to be with his kids and figure out a next step. It doesnt look like he had another job in mind.
