Just a quick update... Today is day 20 post Tenex Op. I had my two week followup last Thursday which was also the last day in the boot. Dr. told me just because there is little to no pain doesn't mean there's nothing going on. It still needs a full 6-8 weeks to heal. He said the soonest he's seen anyone get back to their sport after a Tenex was 8 weeks, and that was a basketball player. So I've been cleared to begin very easy walking...15 minutes or so every-other-day. I can continue biking which I've been doing every-other-day on my indoor trainer, 15-20 miles/ride. And I begin with the calf strengthening heel dips 3x5/day to start. And foam roll the calves. But absolutely no running.
Since removing the boot there has been short periods of pain, though very minor. Feels like little shooting 'twinges' that last a few seconds. And a little soreness after my walks. On a pain scale of 1-10 the overall rating is maybe a 1. Everything feels real good! But then running is the thing that seemed to cause the pain and there has been none of that for about a month now.
The next appt is Dec 3. So I'll keep on doing what I've been doing until then. I've been able to maintain my weight around 170 which isn't too far off from my running weight of 165-167'ish.
Have a good run,
Dave
