This thread was deleted by a volunteer moderator. I certainly don't want a thread this big deleted so I've restored. THat being said, this thread has served it's purpose. I've closed it to new posts.
We have a new 2024 vaccine thread here. New people don't need to try to wade through 20,000 posts to figure out what is going on.
Wow, thanks for telling us all what the point is Mr. "I can't get into the Asilomar immunology conference but please just listen to me, damn it!"
The fact that you are even remotely trying to compare risk with HIV and risk with Covid as your example is striking actually.
Cute that you try to relate to me:) AAI isn't a very useful meeting anymore - I have been to my fair share of major conferences in the field, but in the era of pre-prints... conferences are losing their edge.
If you could think more than one layer deep (COVID HIV different duhhh) you'd see the the exaggerated risk in my example actually reinforces the conclusion that for lower risk diseases prophylaxis is not universally required or even recommended. Public health knows human and payers wont be purely utilitarian!
There is absolutely no way you have a degree. Absolutely no chance. Nada, zilch, zip.
When vaxtards don’t have science on their side and they don’t have the data on their side, they resort to lying, name-calling and stealing people’s usernames. All because they lost an argument on the internet. Shame on you. Take losing like a man.
Has nothing to do with your opinions, as we've said all along. I hate to break it to you, but your arguments just aren't that compelling.
The mocking is when you steal people's handles and then start calling THEM morons and imbeciles. Because you can't handle it. You and your other bipolar personality.
Of course my arguments aren't compelling to people that operate on dogma alone. That's not the goal. I've been interacting with your type for almost 4 years now.
Report me again :)
They're not compelling to anyone actually. Amazing too that you continue to interact with my type, whatever that is, then. Someone who says you're FOS and accurately calls you out on it I guess.
But Djokovic placed third, so that proves long Covid! Compelling.

Choker is one data point of many in the COVID/long-COVID/vaccine saga. I would re-read the 800+ pages here, the previous vaccine thread of ~400 pages, and then maybe "Facts Matter's" threads from mid 2020 too (100 pages).
I commend your monomaniacal obsession with a single topic (Choker)... it's a crucial skill for message board trolls.

I'm not trying to relate to you at all, my narcissistic little friend. So, lower risk diseases like - Covid, outside of the highest risk groups.
But, heh, the fifth monovalent offers eight months of protection against cold symptoms in the majority of high risk Covid patients? Fukking compelling stuff. Are you on this scintillating paper with all of it's caveats?

For anyone that doesn't want to get sick from COVID or high-risk people that don't want to get sick and die... yes, it's quite compelling.
Your alternative is just "enjoy increased risk of sickness and death... because vaccine bad"

You mean my commitment to calling you out on your bullish*t because you are trying to put the Djokovic genie back in the bottle, the genie you let out before you decided you've had enough and resorted to stealing handles.
This isn't a tennis thread!!!!! But please explain this to me in tennis terms???? But I don't care if Djokovic won the US Open, he must have long Covid!!!!!! I'm so friggin smart!!!!! Why won't you guys agree with me?????? Wahhhhhhhhhh!!!!
The anti-vax stance is that we should simply accept getting sick, and any vaccine that could improve quality of life and prevent sickness is worthless and not worth studying because... Harambe and I don't like his fav tennis player :(

Yes I am very smart, much smarter than you, thank you for acknowledging... thus I don't really care about your agreement; it's just a intellectual exercise.
I stand by everything I have said. My track record during the pandemic is close to infallible.

You're welcome!
When someone says they are smarter than you, they know they are not smarter. 😂
It is quite entertaining seeing him seethe. All he has is the seethe. He knows he’s been defeated.

This is compelling. I have almost flipped sides!!
The pro-choice stance is that the experimental mRNA vaccines, which have very little runway in terms of clinical application and which neither prevent sickness nor spread shouldn't be coerced on people, particularly those in low risk groups who have developed immunity naturally (especially after they've already developed it) and then be castigated for their highly personal and rational decisions. Hard to fathom for a lesser intellect, we know.

Exactly right. The dude is not that smart or impressive. Can't even finish a debate about a tennis player and offer anything other than a stupid, vindictive opinion. Steals handles.
This dude is boring. I mean, it's fun watching himself talk to his other persona, but this schtick is tiring now.

For the original strain and Alpha variant the vaccines reduced infection and transmission rates a lot - even for Delta vaccination people had high-viral loads for fewer days (less transmission) and observation studies during Delta showed less in-home transmission in vaccination households.
Requiring people in healthcare, childcare, and teaching to get vaccinated is not a new idea - vaccine requirements already existed for those jobs. For other jobs the vast majority of "mandates" were vaccinate or test weekly... because co-workers didn't want to catch COVID. These were mandates by private orgs that figure it was the best for them and their business.
This has all been hashed out in depth over the years.

I have no interest in impressing you - I have seen what you consider impressive :)

Yet, you just can't resist responding to me. Impressive.

Does a pig play in the mud to impress anyone?
Told you.
Does a pig feel the need to tell everyone how smart it is and how it actually hurts being so smart? Does a pig know it's about to get slaughtered and sizzled up in a pan?
