“The administration doesn’t have a clear policy objective and a clear goal. Is it to drag this thing out, which is precisely what Vladimir Putin wants?” said Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas), chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. “Is it to just give them enough to survive and not to win? I don’t see a policy for victory right now, and if we don’t have that, then what are we doing?”
Washington has no idea what it's doing.
Breaking news, house republican criticizes Biden foreign policy. Great insight from politico, as per usual.
It seems like a reasonable article, despite the fairly non-matching, semi-bogus title of it (and the extremely simplistic summary of the situation, above).
Wars are usually hard and complicated. Individual countries - and multitudes of organizations and individuals within them - disagree on how, exactly, to wage wars. Separate countries will surely do the same, and perhaps often to an even greater extent. Shocking stuff. And surely not necessarily indications that there are great "cracks" and/or incompetence involved on the U.S. side in this, so far.
Put a different way, the U.S. could surely do more, and the U.S. surely could do less (I happen to lean towards the former). Reasonable arguments could be made for both.

The west has depleted it's artillery ammunition. Ukraine is likely to run out by summer time and once you run out of artillery shells in an artillery war like this one you lose.
NATO and the US aren't capable of producing as many shells as Ukraine needs. Russia's entire economy is on a war footing pumping out shells 24/7. Russia is firing 60,000 shells a day into the Ukrainian positions. The entire west is capable of producing 100,000 shells a month.
When you ingest nothing but propaganda you will have absolutely no idea what's happening.
Wagner was declared all but combat ineffective a month ago. They suffered catastrophic casualties and couldn't possibly continue... And yet they still assault the Ukrainian positions hundreds of times per day and the Ukrainians in Bakhmut are getting pushed further and further back and getting closer and closer to being surrounded.
The west won't fight. If it won't fight there is NOTHING "more" that they can do that will make any difference at all.
The “West” is more then 50 countries supplying Ukraine with artillery, including USA, Germany, France, Australia, Japan etc.
You really think they are running out of artillery?
What makes you think that?
Outside of the US NATO has been largely ignoring defense spending for generations.
The US hasn't been geared toward conventional warfare since the early 1990s' You don't stockpile ammunition you don't need and you don't maintain a manufacturing base for things you don't use.
Inside a sprawling factory just off the President Biden Expressway in downtown Scranton, Pennsylvania, the future arsenal of Ukraine's war effort is being forged, one red hot artillery shell at a time.
Also, there is not one single entity in the world that knows the artillery numbers for more than one NATO nation, let alone all of them. Yet, apparently you have intel no one else in the world has.
The reality is NATO, especially USA and Turkey, could supply Ukraine with artillery for a decade and not blink an eye.
NATOs biggest concern is running out of Ukrainian soldiers and having to use NATO troops.

So you think CNN is lying. Why would CNN lie for Russia?

June 2022 - 9 months ago - Ukraine says: "We're almost out of ammunition." Did they run out? (Checks 9 months of video footage) No. I guess something changed.
February 2023 - real recently - CNN says Ukraine is burning through ammunition faster than the West can produce it, and then describes the Pentagon's plan to fix that problem.
Can we fix it? Yes we can!
Your faith in the Russian economy and doubts about the U.S. and larger Western economy fly in the face of decades of economic data.

Ukraine's got maybe 6 months left unless west pulls off a miracle.
This is great news - China is stretching out its diplomatic arms. it brokered a truce between iran and saudi and now is stepping up to talk to Russia and Ukraine.
This is very good - we need China to step up and be a big boy, play by rules and at take some responsibility.
SINGAPORE—Chinese leader Xi Jinping plans to speak with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for the first time since the start of the Ukraine war, likely after he visits Moscow next week to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to people familiar with the matter. The meetings with Messrs. Putin and Zelensky, the latter of which is expected to take place virtually, reflect Beijing’s effort to play a more active role in mediating an end to the war in Ukraine, some of the people said. Mr. Xi is considering visiting other European countries as part of his trip to Russia, though his full itinerary has yet to be confirmed, according to the people. A direct conversation with Mr. Zelensky, if it happens, would mark a significant step in Beijing’s efforts to play peacemaker in Ukraine, which have so far been met with skepticism in Europe. It would also bolster Beijing’s credentials as a global power broker after it facilitated a surprise diplomatic breakthrough between Saudi Arabia and Iran last week.

Russia is winning. They are in Ukraine. Anyone arguing that Russia is finished would actually need Russia to be completely out of Ukraine, including Crimea.
While guessing (taunting) is fun for some, it changes nothing. Guessing on munitions is pointless when Russia is winning.
As advertised, they have liberated the Donbas from invading Nazis just as they liberated Berlin from Nazis in WWII.
Stepan Bandera was a Ukrainian nationalist who joined forces with the German Nazis during World War II because he believed that they would help his country gain independence from the now defunct Soviet Union.
A civilian practicing his own disgusting ideology? But ignore the monuments of nazis in Ukraine, a far right ultranationalist regiment integrated in their national guard, their “national hero” a genocidal man, and SOLDIERS displaying blatant Nazi symbolism… pic.twitter.com/bZkr711TQM

Of course it's China. america started the war then blocked peace attemptes before and after it started proper. america will do everything possible to keep this war going for the backers paying off washington to do so. america has no morality.
China is the big boy. Their petroyuan (BRICS) is making it possible for Russia to beat Ukraine's Nazi state. Chinese banks rule the world.
Of course america is pushing Russian oil too, helping them beat america's sanctions. At the end of the day, america wants its petrodollar cut. That revenue is more important for the backers of this war than what tax payers are losing in billions they are grifted for. You see, it's all a transfer of wealth from the 99% to the 1%. But this time, it's to support a literal government sanctioned Nazi state. morality bottoming out.

The way you moved the goalposts all the way to the 1 inch line of the opposing team suggests you don't have much confidence in how this is going to end.
Hundreds of thousands of dead Russian soldiers, massive loss of military equipment, utterly failed strategic goals...but hanging onto an empty pile of rocks in eastern Donetsk? Winning!
I think the crypto apocalypse broke your brain. It's time to admit those ape pictures were never worth anything.

If america's economy weren't fake, based on a house of cards, every flinch wouldn't tank america's markets and shutter banks.
Z said Russia in Ukraine is a loss so your Nazi state is losing.
I think your Nazi government values in Ukraine broke anything you say.

In 1993, america worked with Ukraine to deport 130 of Ukraine's Nazi war criminals hiding in america after the holocaust. Now that they have died, they are getting monuments and street names after themselves by the Ukraine government.
"Thirty years ago, the U.S. Justice Department and the Ukrainian Prosecutor General’s Office signed an agreement.
In 1993, the goal of that agreement was to deepen our countries’ cooperation on cases involving Nazi war crimes. As a result, the Justice Department and the Prosecutor General’s Office successfully worked together to prove atrocity crimes in Nazi-occupied Ukraine. This was integral to the Justice Department’s own decades-long efforts to identify, denaturalize, and deport Nazi war criminals in the United States. All told, the Department’s Office of Special Investigations brought more than 130 cases against perpetrators of Nazi crimes."
President Zelenskyy, Prosecutor General Kostin, and esteemed colleagues: it is an honor to be here with you on behalf of the United States Department of Justice.
Here is a comprehensive list of growing Nazi monuments in Ukraine:
"Note: In the years since the Maidan uprising brought a new government to Ukraine in 2014, numerous monuments to Nazi collaborators and Holocaust perpetrators have been erected, at times as frequently as a new one each week."
The most conservative estimates put the cost for the all-out war by the Ukrainian authorities against all public symbols, monuments and names that are associated with Russia, the October revolution and Soviet history, or left...
RU just downed a US drone in international waters.
Ruh roh.
We need some cool heads now.
Yea maybe Russia won't notice tens of thousands of Russians have been killed with American weapons...
It's way too late for the "cool heads" nonsense. You wanted World War 3 and there's a better than 50/50 chance you're gonna get it. Russia's got nothing to lose and the west has never been weaker.
RU just downed a US drone in international waters.
Ruh roh.
We need some cool heads now.
I actually wonder how the Appeaser In The Room (Blame America First) and the America-haters (Rage Against America) will spin this. It's got to be America's fault!
It looks so far like the Russian Orcclowns accidentally hit the drone while trying to show off how agile they are.
Cool heads aren't needed. I'm actually hoping hotter heads will prevail and we use this as a justification for applying force on Russian military assets in the Black Sea area. The next Su-27 that goes near a US drone gets amraamed up the yingyaam.
