In physics they say all measurement is an illusion of its measuring instrument so in a way flat earthers in theory do have a point about flat-earth. All measuring instrument is inherently bias by default, it's limited by weaknesses and errors. The point is if a certain measuring technique becomes mainstream after a few years or decades there is a lot of inertia to change that point of view because lots of theories and discoveries would have build about earlier theories and discoveries using said measuring instruments. There is no financial incentive to go back in time and rewrite everything using a new measuring instrument that produces a flat image of the earth from outer space rather than a spherical one.
reality is what you make of it. every reality is true to the one who is measuring it as he/she measures it using his/her 'own instrument'.
If you think flat-earthers are some crackpot group of people, then you mustn't have heard of electrohypersensitive which refers to a group of people who cannot tolerate the physical effects of wireless radiofrequency technology. They are definitely more mysterious.
