That race in London is why I hate Mo Farah

Are you really this dense? Bekele lost that race because he let it come down to a finishing kick against the fastest miler of all time. It had nothing to do with being burnt out. He could have avoided time-trialing all summer and still lost to El G using that strategy. Also, you're conveniently forgetting that he *did* win Oly gold in Athens (in the 10).

Seemed to be a trade-off to me. Chase fast times and be burnt out for the champs. It's simple. Happens all the time. Some can handle both but many, like even the great Bekele, don't pull it off often.

I remember how Bekele only has 3 golds and 1 silver and Mo has 4 golds. Mo brings it when it counts - always.

Silver medals are about the worst possible claim to GOAT status because it means you were beaten. Coe is not famous because of his medals, but for setting world records, in particular one that lasted a long time. Same reason Beamon was famous - for 8.90, not for gold. Who won LJ gold in 64 or 72? Not famous because no big WR.

Wilson Kipketer was the undisputed 800 meter GOAT until Rudisha broke his record, even though he was pwned by relative nobodies in the olympics. It is all about going fast. That's what makes track such a great sport, you compete against everyone, ever, on a standardized course, so there is no debating who is the best even across different eras.

You're forgetting Coe's 1500m career.

People speak as though apart from his WR in 2003, Bekele didn't ran fast. Check out the times. In 5,000m Bekele has run 10 races faster than Farah fastest time, the last of which was in 2008.

In the 10000m Bekele has run 7 races faster than Farah's best time, the last of which was in 2011.

Bekele ran fast during his whole career.

And one simply cannot claim to be the GOAT when he has in the 10k the 28th fastest time, and in the 5k the 64th fastest time.

Sub 13min 5k runs- Bekele 17. Farah- 4

Sub 27min 10k Bekele- 9. Farah-1.

He hasn't claimed it. Experts have.

Yeah, but they guy you quoted wasn't complaining about his tactical prowess and lack of top-level times, rather the late-career surge from championship also-ran to world beater, which raises suspicion for many. Isn't he the only man to win championship 5000 and/or 10000 races at a major championship? And this after not having medalled at anything prior to what, 28 years old? 29?

He is without a doubt a great racer and fast. The doubt has to do with doping. Or maybe he just has a weird body and had extremely low race IQ prior to AlSal beating some sense into him.
