Bill from whiteblaze.net points her to the thread, tells her that accepting a ride makes it supported, and skipping 45 miles in SNP takes away the FKT. Invites her to talk to justify it in a rsp to him here, or on whiteblaze, or email. Then gently suggests that withdrawing her claim is the right thing to do, her cause is good, and so on. Not harsh at all, but factual.

She admits the ride and says if that takes her out of the self-supported record so be it, but still claims to have covered every mile so she beat Karl's record, and asks him to call her--even though her phone was supposed to be trashed?

Bill gets specific about the 45 mile gap and asks for an explanation. Then tells her that her friend has his contact info if she wants to talk.

I can still see the post with a direct link but I can't see it just navigating her hike FB page, so I don't know how she's done that. The little symbol on Bill's top post appears to be public, but you can probably set FB to not show other people's posts on your wall.

i hiked the AT a few years ago and met a dude who said he had been a pro cyclist and then a pro triathlete, winning an ironman at one point. i cant recall his trail-name right now,, but we were sharing a couple of beers at the time and i remember thinking 'this dude is full of crap." we were laughing our asses off anyway but his story seemed like BS.. well, i got to the next town library and looked him up and he hadn't been lying. this chick though....i think she's in over her head. realized the AT is tougher than hell and started yellow blazing..but needed the attention anyway.. sad. some of us need more attention than others it seems..

Some thru hiker named oriole on the white blaze forum p 13 just made a long post describing how he came across her quite a few times and that she managed to leap frog him mysteriously and repeatedly.
