For, when future becomes past, you may find yourself stuck in the present . . . and being judged a blithering idiot.
Disagree. I'd rather be proven wrong than be someone too afraid to make a prediction.
Saying Bol has a 1:57 ceiling isn't an insult. 1:57 is an excellent time. The current United States Champion has never broken 1:57. She just barely broke 1:58 for the first time in her career this season! Yet people here predict Bol will break 1:57 in her debut like it's nothing?
Rather than gang up on me, consider how hard it is for a woman to run 1:57, and show more respect to the event.
Sage Hurta Klecker ran 1:55.89 in Toe-k-yo last fall. If Bol can't beat Klecker then she should go back to the hurdles.
1:59.07, not bad!!! Plus taking the win. Not quite as good as some here predicted, but a great opener for her first (real) 800. 1:57 outdoors (as I predicted) will probably happen imo, maybe even a 1:56 by late summer.

If you don't know the difference between indoor and outdoor running, you should go back to non-running forums.
(Not even mentioning you're comparing a debut season opener against a seasoned 800m athlete peaking for Worlds)
^This. Hurta is a seasoned 800m runner with a dismal start to 2026 compared to the debut of Bol. Hurta's 2:38:76 time in the 1000m shows that she is no where close to Bol at this point and probably never will be. Bol is leap years ahead and will only get faster. There is no comparison.
