On March 10 they had 2 more freshmen go sub-5 in the 1600 and another one just under 5 minutes. Lots of time for improvement for those guys but having 2 freshmen go sub-10 is already a good sign

Where are you seeing this? As far as I can see the only 2 runners under 10 are Braylin Combe and Summer Wilson.

Idk why Summer Wilson and Braelyn Combe are being brought up in the context of Brentwood high freshman
When I saw a discussion of 10 minute 3200s I assumed it was about the girls. It never crossed my mind that a boy running it would be highlighted in a thread about Ca running. Last year 872 boys in California broke it so it’s an interesting thing to flag.
Did Micah dickran tank his CIF eligibility by running at oxy??? Strange decision for someone who will be competing for a spot on the state podium, who isn’t good enough to forego his eligibility like that.

Wow, that’s interesting. He seems to be better at track than XC too. Will he be running in college for next year?

Also, I've said this in a few post, why does CIF (for track specifically as I can see why they care for sports like basketball) care if a High School athlete run against non-highschoolers? They aren't taking prize money. It makes zero sense

For the same reasons that they would care for any other sport.
Try defining that a little more. And no it's not the same as other sports> In speaking with AD's from what I have heard CIF wrote that in out of care for athletes being used by family members to make money. You put your kid in a 3v3 basketball tournament for the prize money. Or for football, ensure they aren't being pushed to a college too early (undue influence perhaps?) For running, how does that invalidate them for CIF?
Rest In Peace to one of the pioneers of California cross country and track and field. Bob Rush, a timer back in the days of stopwatches, Chronomizes and popsicle sticks, also was highly instrumental in various administrative aspects in keeping the sport organized at the junior…
