This is yet another dumb alcoholic coach from Nowhereville, Wisconsin:

☑ Taking individual credit for the natural talent of student athletes

☑ Making coaching entirely about themselves

☑ Justifying drinking to excess at "clinics"

☑ Enabling others to follow their path

The school-sponsored running sports already operate at a huge deficit. When people like this willingly cheat course integrity there really isnt much of a sport left.

The lesson learned is that stricter governance and licensing is needed for all extracurriculars because people like the above should not be involved in the first place.

SPASH gets 4th place, many teams were in contention for 2nd place after Sioux Falls Lincoln. Lenn and Tanner qualified as individuals

Lucas Tanner only 8 seconds behind Lenn…what a race by him!

He has gotten faster with each meet this year. He has the dazzling 1:55-open / 4:06 best, have to think he can get under 8:50 this spring giving Lenn someone to run away from.

What happened to Quentin Nauman? He seems unbeatable, but maybe he's more of a track guy.

He rallied and placed well. Could place higher at nationals than at regionals. But yes I'd say more of a track guy that can still run xc with the best of them. Cold day, not used to being beat, poor footing, still rallied well. South Dakota had a guy that should have been top 5, finished 76th

If his 800m best is only 1:55 with a 4:06 1600m, the only reason he's not under 1:50 is an imperfect understanding of where middle distance success comes from. It's not his or his coach's fault as that line of thinking is almost endemic in the state, but so much performance is being left on the table. < 4:00 is attainable.

Avg time difference between the D2 Deerfield Sectional and The Ridges Golf Course is at 66.8s for boys and 65.4s for girls. There's no way the Deerfield Sectional course is more than 3 miles.
