I love seeing more appreciation for Archie Williams, I remember when I first posted about them people were like “it takes more than three people” and doubting them to at least podium in D4. They’re not beating Jserra but they are underrated and deserve their praise
^ and yes ik it takes more than 3 people. But D4 is not that competitive besides Jserra and with their lineup and recent performance at Lowell it’s not unreasonable that they’re a solid 2nd or 3rd place for D4

This is the Sac-Joaquin top 20 women. I don't understand how Fernandez of Riverbank and Arriaza of Patterson are not on this list, They didn't graduate and their schools are in the Sac-Joaquin Section. They are top 20 runners in this section. Someone didn't do their homework.

I believe so. They opened up in 2020, so that could explain the rapid division switches— new school usually means a push towards getting more students to get that specific school

Looking at splits it's clearly a fake time.
PR's of 6:03 and 13:37 as an 8th grader. If she actually made that leap to run each mile of a 5k 40 seconds faster, that's very impressive, but I'm also skeptical.
Also, I'll give in to the hype about the St. Francis girls if they just added this Freshman. They looked good last year in XC winning Mt. Sac, and their 4x800 team podiumed at State. They were 1 puzzle piece away from being an NXN contender this year, and it looks like they got that piece in the Freshie, Alyssa Gutierrez. But I'm confused... none of the names at the Kim Duyst race were on the state roster last year, this is a different St. Francis? Must be. There are 3 in the state.

Two SF's in Northern California: Mountain View and Sacramento. Gutierrez runs for Sacramento and from their season so far they're going to be tough to beat in D3. They're also really young with only 2 upperclassmen on varsity squad.
