We merged like 5 threads into 1 and sort of combined the titles. Rojo, who said Rooks had a 1% chance at a medal, started a thread pointin gout the betting odds on Bovada were 33-1 when the race started.
Yes. Those who follow the sport. Unsurprisingly, you hadn't.
He nearly beat the GOAT of steeplechasers, and no one outside of the US would have heard of him. Your tiny cult hardly counts. He may as well have come from Bangladesh.

The rest of the world is lucky PEDs exist, our country would dominate even more without them. We have the largest talent pool, most competitive development system, best coaches, etc.
Without PEDs it would be zero athletes from the Netherlands/Norway competing for medals, I promise you that 😂
Well your reputation is well founded ... flo-Jo, Karl Lewis, Marionj Jones, Lance ...

You know what doesn't count? You.
I am not American and I don't live in the US. But, unlike you, I follow the sport.
Now step aside.
You don't follow the sport. You're a member of a cult. He came from nowhere to be within a fraction of beating the best in the world. If it wasn't completely out of left field we wouldn't be discussing it on threads like this.

Cult? What cult? People who enjoy the sport? Yeah, you don't belong here.
I was trying to watch it quietly at work and shouted OHH when Girma hit the deck. BTW, even with Anderson in booth, I don't recall hearing Rooks name uttered until he literally went to 1st place.

I was coming back to my computer when elbakali and kenyan were coming up behind rooks at the last water jump, I actually thought he was being lapped! Had to rewind and take in the glory.

They kept saying RooTH. I think someone had sent some Bordeaux to the box yesterday. They were all slurring their words.
He's never going to run faster. But it's a good time to lifetime PB.
Keep under estimating this kid! He'll keep proving you wrong.
He only ran NCAA for a couple years. He's been a pro for less than a year. This race was run extremely unfavorably for a PB. Pretty sure he'll run faster.
He's got a bright future ahead.
Every time I read a prediction on here of someone "never running faster again" immediately after having an awesome breakthrough performance, I read it as "I'm so jealous. I don't want him to ever run faster." Why even predict that someone's peaked and done. What is the value in that? How many times has that turned out to be flat wrong? Why can't running fans simply be happy when a runner runs well? So bizarre the reactions on here sometimes.

Yes. A little surprising, don't you think?
Do you really think an LDS guy is injecting illegal drugs into his body to run faster? It is literally against his religion in at least a dozen ways (lying, cheating, bad for body, etc.).
These guys are like the Amish. They get high off of hard work and honesty.
