Yes, there are people who believe she doped. Those people would be correct based on all the evidence.

But there is also a lot of unfounded support. Look at some of the people on this board. "Steady Progression" keeps trying to make a case that Shelby, a 4:09/15:49 runner coming out of college, progressed naturally to 3:54(!!!!)/14:23(!!!!!!!!!!!). That is obviously outrageous but they seem hell bent on defending her.

The only thing Shelby has going for her is that she is white and American. There is no evidence from the case to suggest her innocence.

Great stats. 6 tests (by USADA only, including in-competition, lol) until July 13. Her USADA testing history is quite telling too: they knew what she was up too since at least 2019. For reference I am adding Frerichs (same club, same age also with ARs, and globally more successful) in parenthesis:

Why do you call that post a well-considered analysis? First, he lied about me again, pretending I didn't read the rules, and then he made a general, off-topic statement about the rules, that only serve to distract from his original lie (that the panel did not think Houlihan cheated).

And here we are, several pages later, and "An experienced view" still has not shown anything in support of that claim. In fact, he contradicted that claim several times but still hasn't retracted it. But sure, call it a well-considered analysis, why not.

A few things about this and Shelbo in general make me a weird mix of amused and sad

- running faster than the US record in some tinpot race whilst your banned is pretty funny, especially when the record is held by one of your former (probably still current it seems) coaches who publicly defended you. I'm sure the course was probably 400m short anyway

- doofuses like the BroJos and Gault should comment on this given they head up the Shelby Internet Defence Force/Fundraising campaign - what are your thoughts gents? Can we get a tee proclaiming Shelby to be the "true" american record holder as she was criminally deprived of a career?

- Shelby, at at least one point in time was proven to be doping, and it seems that Bowerman as a whole were being target tested? So probably the best group at the time in the US, heavily stepping in to grey areas and at least one member doping... And they're still running 90 seconds slower than the 10k world record. Every week I watch the Diamond League or road races and in the moment enjoy myself, before a few minutes later realising that what we just saw was so incredibly suspect (similar to the vibes at this years Tour de France), this just further cements those feelings for me

you see this with amateur and pro runners. It's all they know, having slogged out miles every day since grade 8.

Even when it's obvious her career is OVER she can't move on. She needs to start developing some new skills to make her employable. I would be doing a coding bootcamp or enrolling in a trade school program ASAP.

But she just can't stop with the "Routine", slogging out miles and doing workouts every week.
