Henry, congrats on the "race"; sounds like you got a little beat up though. (Just the body reminding you to take it gradually.....you're not 25 anymore!) I found out from Saucony that they shipped out 3 pairs of shoes to you in Albuquerque about a week ago; did you get them yet? Take care, Henry. STEVE
Thanks Steve, I got the shoes three pairs these ones are the best.Unlike the older models of Sauconies. It feels more firm in the feet.

Thanks I'm still healing up from half-marathon
Today I was suppose to do intervals;however, I ended up cycling and weight training for forty minutes +30 minutes sauna + 30 minutes swiming-pool + 15 minutes steam-room + two hours nap.Now I feel great.
I'm ready but the hamstrings are still stiff.I will stretch the intervals today just wait for the body to heal from that 7 minute per mile half-marathon pace.
Henry
Henry- The 2 pairs of trainers will probably feel more firm that what youve previously had since they do offer more stability than what you've had before.
The flats should serve you well for races in the future.
one hour and forty one minutes, and you were a bandit in the race?!
huh?!
55 is not that old...
At 70, Ed Whitlock ran 1:22 at the 7th annual Greater Buffalo Track Club Half Marathon:

Ed makes getting older look like nothing at all.

Henry your time is great for your age at this stage in your training. I am also 55, still think like I am 25...I guess that's the problem.
Keep it up, we are watching!

The 261 days of training phase II. 32mwp + 92mhc + 16mcd = 140 minutes.
I feel my left hip pain is getting away I learn that this evening when I wanted to do my second workout;however I didn't do the second training this morning training was enough.I'm having a good smile in this evening to get my hip back.
Henry
Henry, good idea to wait on the intervals until you feel healthy. I can't wait to see your interval results. I think your half marathon at 7 minute a mile pace has helped you move closer to Phase III. A few more interval sessions and you will be there! The intervals should also help to break up some fat and get you over any plateau.
To Run This
The 263 day of training phase II.22mwp + 92mhc + 19mcd =133 minutes.
The pace was alot faster I joint in with youngsters that s why I was faster by 10 minutes.Trying to keep up with them and also in the hill repeats i try four times with them, then recovery I faded off for while and comeback just for two laps trying to put up with them again.
It was great training to day.Perhaps I will get to level III next week and that was morning run.
Henry
My second workout:44 minutes + drills + long strides in the middle of the field.
I ended up with 63 minutes at the end of the day.

To HR
The 264 days of training phase II. 25mwp + 92mhc + 20mcd = 137 minutes. In the begining my movement was fast.I eneded up running slower. The left leg hip still acting up little in the early morning run at 6am it was really cold

160 lbs? That's great!
The hip pain, is it like a pinced nearve? I've had sciatic pains anywhere from the lower back to knee off and on for years. Usally concentrating on crunches, sit ups and leg lifts plus stretching the glutes, hamstrings and calves relieves it in a few days, as for me this pain is due to a slightly slipped disk.

You are right. It goes all the way down to hamstrings.I think it is sciatic pains the same leg I had quads injury, when that one is healing and now is glutes and a little of the knee too.The all leg is going through alot.
Anyhow, I was able to dragg this leg around for 70 minutes and start on the second evening workout.jogging for 50 minutes + drills:jogging + high knees + sprints runs + long strides sprints again slow jogging + high knees + sprints run + long strides.
These should take care of my pincing nerve in my hipp and glute right! right!!!.

The 265 days of training phase II. I did a recovery run for 166 minutes get out of my apts. Get on copper hills through foot hills. All the way to Commanche road turn on Tramway head south into the copper road and I was back to where I started for that much 166 minutes.
It cost me the pains in the joints, don't leave alone the knees and quads. And don't forget nerves in the shoulders down to the hipps.I'm tired closing my eyes and well resting at the moment.Oh!hoply, there is light at the end of a tunell.
