Saying false things about someone opens you up to civil liability. There's a reason this doesn't happen for every contentious appointment. Yes, these people are all lying about his behavior at Yale and beyond -- eyeroll.

Can we talk about the fact that in a court that is already not diverse with respect to academic background that it is ridiculous to have two members be from the same high school?

Here are some additional inconsistencies from Kavanagh's testimony as I see it:

Said he was a choirboy--untrue. Said he was an alter boy--untrue. Said he was a virgin--untrue. Said the legal drinking age was 18--he was 17 and could not legally drink until age 21. He said he worked his ass off to get into Yale--he was a legacy. Said Devil's Triangle was a card card--it is actually about sexual scores. Claimed he was not at the house--he doesn't which house it was because a date for the event has not been determined. Said he had four witness who at the party who said he did not attempt to rape Ford--the date of the party has not been established. Claims he doesn't know when the party occurred--yet he claims to have witness to the unknown party. Then he must have teleported himself back in time to figure out who was the party to make sure he could get witness statements that he wasn't there.

When people get hired for jobs people are not going through their high school yearbook and interview old classmates like people are doing in this case. About the closest we get to that is a criminal background check and a social media check (yes I have hired and fired a number of people through the years, mostly we are looking for arrests, court cases and visible tattoos).

Any juvenile offenses are typically sealed (as they should be, because a person at 17 is not the same person at 53). The whole idea that his high school and college behavior are relevant today, 36 years later is pathetic.

So if it is no big deal, go ahead and release your personal information.

If true, how is this relevant? BK is not claiming that they had sex, but it was consensual. I could see the relevance of claiming she was loose if they both acknowledged they had sex - or were going to - but only disagreed on whether it was consensual. But whether she was a party girl has no bearing on whether the attempted rape took place. I suppose if she's characterised as a party girl, it's slightly more believable that she struggles to remember important details. She may have been drunk and she may have been to numerous parties.

Would a grandfather who attended Yale undergrad seriously impact your Yale Law (or any grad program) application? Doubtful. When he said "no connections" I took that to mean no personal connections that would help him with admissions.
