This thread was deleted by a volunteer moderator. I certainly don't want a thread this big deleted so I've restored. THat being said, this thread has served it's purpose. I've closed it to new posts.
We have a new 2024 vaccine thread here. New people don't need to try to wade through 20,000 posts to figure out what is going on.

Sajid Javid said last night over-75s could be offered another Covid jab in the autumn, and that younger age groups could be called forward for a fourth Covid shot at the same time.
I am no anti-vaxxer, but it should not be for the manufacturers of the vaccine to prescribe how many boosters are needed. In regards to Pfizer, if your vaccine is not effective or long-lasting against Omicron, design a better vaccine. Additionally, if people are well-protected from COVID enough that the spread is not causing hospitalizations these would be mostly extraneous boosters.

Agree, Immunocompromised or other very vulnerable people may need repeated boosting as COVID is a very serious risk for them even with 90+% protection against hospitalization. No reason as of yet for young and healthy people to expect repeated boosters.
Antivaxxers think that someone with cancer should just die of COVID rather than offend them by getting another booster.

The article is citing the UK National Health Service recommendations, not that of the vaccine manufacturers.
With the omicron the state of vaccination is that resistance to infection tapers down such that the most vulnerable (elderly and immunocompromised) get significant benefit from periodic vaccination. This has more to do with the immune system works than with any particular fault of the vaccine. Essentially the same tapering of resistance effect is seen with persons who have been exposed to the virus and recovered (aka "natural immunity").
Vaccine efficacy and natural immunity against severe outcomes lasts considerably longer, but probably not infinitely. Thus we'll probably see recommendations for periodic boosters for a broader part of the population, but the optimum period isn't yet clear.
Carmine is just better informed and less susceptible to fear mongering BS
In a recently deleted thread, Carmine just suggested that he prefers Nazi Germany to America. Do the rest of you anti-vaxxxers agree with this?
A lie, of course.
I did point out that America with its centuries of genocide of the native peoples and genocide and enslavement of tens of millions of Africans, not to mention dropping atom bombs on civilians, has done far more damage and any regime that was in power for less than 12 years.
Which is indisputable. Probably why the thread was removed

In response to a thread asking about the best place to locate a swastika tattoo, you replied to a poster who insulted the OP with: "Who is responsible for killing more people. America or Nazi Germany? "
The only appropriate response to that thread was to insult OP. Instead, you chose to defend him by "just asking questions." Yes, obviously America has killed more people over the last 246 years than Nazi Germany did in 12. What does that have to do with anything? Does that make Nazis any less despicable? Does that justify someone's desire to get a swastika tattoo? Why are you so resistant to plainly stated fact that Nazism is evil?
