What’s your source? I was a head coach in the jay hawk for 3 years. I know all the coach’s. What have you done. Do you even know region 6?
Distance
Midwestern State University
Central State University
Benedictine University
Anyone heard anything about the openings above or who some front runners could be?
What’s the word on Mansfield U PA?

Midwestern looking to have assistant be interim head, then promote in the Fall. They have not yet responded to applicants to my knowledge. Central State is a historically black institution, so likely looking for black candidate. Benedictine is a mess, really struggling institution. Would not expect good pay, or university to be around long term unless things change drastically very soon. Have not heard that they have started interviews and I have a few colleagues that applied.

60k average? Definitely not correct. Nice try though.
For a head region 6 coach T & F xc it is. It’s funny people have never even been a coach in that region with opinions
An offer has been made - just waiting for the official announcement. And yes I know who it is, and no I can't say yet.
Whole lot of JUCOs sponsering track in Region six. Butler and Garden City have turned over the last couple years. I recall looking into pay for those positions and I don't think they pay over $60k;can't say for sure.
I think there are some good jobs there, but pay for Barton, Cloud, Coffeyville and Cowley (these seem to be best positions) can't be so far over 68k (and I would bet some of those coaches don't make $68k) as to bring the average up when factoring in Colby, Pratt, and NW Kansas Tech.
I’ve worked in the Jayhawk. Did it for a couple years. Not enough making $60k+ to have an average of such overall.
Pratt CC has 4 Coaches. 36k, 33k, 22k, and Room and Board. Three paid have a lateral job on campus.
Cory Leslie is taking a job with Pete Julian's pro training group as his assistant... Not sure who Dion Miller at ASU is going to hire for the opening at ASU but I am assuming the priority will be to get someone in there quickly who will stay for at least a couple of years and not just a pitstop.
My pick would be Darius Terry, head XC experience and ASU alum
Word is they are not looking for a quick hire
Might be a long shot if she’s interested, but I’d look at Kelly (Strong) Bean, who was an assistant at Washington when UW won the national title & went on to Cal Poly. She’s an ASU alum & worked with Dion at UW.

They have 3. All have lateral positions (housing, admissions, and maintenance) and only 2 include room and board.
Don't recall this being posted....
Do you have any preferences for who they choose to fill that spot with? I'd personally hope for someone with a legit track record coaching at least major conference level mid-distance runners, but not sure how picky I can be at this point.
