The point is don't say he is retiring because that's voluntary. If things are shaking up like it's being reported that's not a healthy organization and as coaches we should be informed when applying to certain organizations.
He literally said in an email to me that he's retiring. Maybe he's being pushed out but he did say he's done.
Brother Sexy Redd I didn't ask you the question. I asked the person who reported the information. If you don't know the answer just ignore my post please. If I ask you a question please provide me an answer or opinion.
Here is a question for you. Are you okay and how is life treating you?
If you people are going to respond to a previous post, how about mentioning the school's name in YOUR post. Often times we have no idea wot school you are referring to.
New Mexico Junior College hired Kathleen Raske (formerly of Sacramento State and Southern Illinois as new head women's coach and hired her husband Terry as the new head men's coach. The last couple of years they both have been at a Division III school in southern Texas.

Why isn’t she at a bigger school? What she did at Sac State was very impressive, why isn’t she the UCLA coach or a big time D1 school? How has she found herself coaching at a JC in the Southwest? I’m confused.
Junior colleges can pay six figures with a fraction of the hassle, and actual time off. X2 if her husband got a position, too. Balance + quality of life are very valuable, sometimes priceless.
JC coaching is low key a better gig than 90% of any D1 gig. In Cali if you teach a few classes and get tenured, coach the team.... you can bring in 150k easy and it's ZERO % expectation and 100% reward when you achieve success at that level. Plus it's fun seeing the athletes move on to the next steps. You get often kids who need to be rebuilt, you do so, then they move on to success.

the sad part is these universities know what they are doing when it comes to pay for coaches. 30-35k for a position that coaches more then three different groups it ridiculous. after paying into the collegiate system 80k plus for an education. The minimum should be 50k.
Have you ever been to Pocatello? It’s cheap and a dump
Yet a person with no high school degree can go and work a construction job an make a minimum 40+ with almost no training. If you could be a college coach without the requirement of having a college degree then i would not be saying this. The fact remains that you have to have a 4 year degree and now they are starting to want you to have a masters!!!!! for a 30-40k job.
Absolutely, but is that their passion or dream job? Probably not. Folks accept low pay in coaching positions, because it’s their passion and what they want to do. Anyone who take the Idaho St job, will most likely only be there a year or two before moving on. it’s the reality of what we do. live/coach a couple years in Pocatello, so you can move on to something better.
So they praise this coach as he walks out the door even though Idaho State has underperformed for nine years in the distances. They even put his quote in where he talks about not having enough resources to be successful. Why do that?
Also, Idaho State demotes this position's title (he was Head XC/Associate Track & Field Coach, it is just listed as an assistant all around) and lowers the salary (he was making 65k, it is listed as 50-55). Don't they want someone good? Hey this guy was making more money and not doing well, so please come take his job and we will pay you less....
I don't get the logic behind any of this with someone who wasn't getting it done in the conference.
Sadly the same thing that often happens. The schools hire a young and inexperienced coach, that can't really coach other then what they did in college, hire their friends and don't keep their admin straight then they get let go. Even if they have some aptitude it is s disservice to them and the student athletes. This approach is great way to ruin young coaches careers.
