This. There's no pleasing the COVID-denier-antivaxxers.
Cases and deaths are declining. Seropositivity from vaccination or infection is extremely high. The Omicron wave has peaked and is plummeting with no vaccine failure against severe disease. Of course the time has come to relax restrictions in the places that still had them, just like last summer before Delta. It's not a political conspiracy that the CDC and others are agreeing it's time to relax restriction when COVID risk is relatively low.
I legitimately think that the denier-antivaxxer types really wish the pandemic would last forever. It's given them something to rail against - to build their personality around. Without COVID... what do they have?

Actually I’ve never “acted” like we were in a pandemic. Pandemic of the overweight w comorbidity & elderly, yes, who I very much advocated the vaccines for. I’m also not complaining??? While I never felt the masks were doing much good (there is plenty of data to corroborate that assertion), I wore them the first year and kept my distance. You are correct that I’m not fully vaccinated or even vaccinated at all, because it was never necessary. I took early treatment through a thorough reading of the literature & knocked Delta back in three days. As did my entire family and in-laws.
In fact, the only Covid-related death I know of is a family friend who immediately went downhill after taking her second shot, and died soon after an exploratory surgery gone awry when they couldn’t figure out “what was wrong with her.” 950,000 died because we didn’t employ early treatment that we had. Steroids, of course, but all the other stuff I mentioned that you vax pushers, hospitals, and our public health officials restricted access to. Doctors who employed such successful treatments had their licenses on trial and were denied hospital privileges. Several of them.
Of course Fauci & the CDC are acknowledging endemicity now. It has been a given ever since Omicron appeared on the scene. But the WH and the press massively decreased their visibility. Biden needed a win, not a SOTU with everyone wearing KN95 masks. Funny how our government spent an exorbitant amount of money on those masks at the end, which aren’t being used, and on at-home tests, half of which have gone unclaimed.

Actually I masked indoors the entire time until I got Covid and unless otherwise required. The most disingenuous action on the part of our Federal health officials was not recognizing natural immunity, of course, which multiple, multiple papers have revealed is just as good as if not better than vaccine-induced immunity. We knew this for a long while.
