Also found 0 on Zully Douglass. Does anyone know anything about her resume? Safe to say this would never happen with a male hire.
If Harvey restores at AZ; who should they go after to lead the program?

Diljeet Taylor
yeah because after turning down Stanford and Oregon in back to back years she's going to be jumping at the opportunity to go to Arizona.

Not that I care about this position, but read the interview the school posted:
favorite athlete \role model- Michael Jordan, hobbies- hiking, fashion, reading? (no running)
she wants to "learn about coaching on this level"?
This is a joke, sorry.
Searched on Google and Bing, nothing on Zully, except she worked for a company called Lavo LLC... maybe.
Perhaps Douglass is her married name. Maybe she has a maiden name that would prompt some results, and/or Zully is short or a nickname for a longer legal name. But we'll never know because that's the most trash press release I've seen in ages. However, that reflects GSU's media department, not her.

Zully Marie Pascual-Carrion. But even then the only thing you can find is that she ran for Miami, as she said in the press release.
A move in the Pac-12 at Cal: https://calbears.com/news/2020/8/25/track-field-darling-named-t-f-xc-assistant-coach.aspx

I love a good mystery. Looks like she is a middle school track coach at Atlanta International School, under the name Zully Pascual. The school site has no details. I found one indoor 800 result under that name as a freshman at Miami, with nothing after. There is a website that shares her name, but it cannot be accessed. She has as small an internet presence as is possible. An international woman of mystery, it seems.

Why?
It's not the job of anyone on here to determine the reasons that make someone hire one person over another. Maybe GSU had a minority inclusion grant that set a path for them. Maybe they just didn't want a white male at a PBI.
This griefing about who gets hired doesn't make someone a better candidate. A lot of young and wannabe coaches (especially in the distance world) think that hiring is an objective process, and it never has been. Every person has a different set of metrics that determine the choice that they'll make in hiring someone, and there is no God-given right to be a collegiate coach.
If you cut out all the butthurt posts on this thread we'd be down to 15 pages.
You’re the one that sounds butthurt my friend. A very defensive stance you’re taking on a matter that(if it doesn’t personally hit a nerve) should be irrelevant to you. Sometimes low key ppl that have also been in a similar Situation as ms Douglass tend to take a similar defensive stance. I know for damn sure I wouldn’t worry about ms Douglass out coaching myself or a brown paper bag, but hey more power to her. She encompasses the issues we face With increasing experience female coaching opportunities... if I were a women I would feel uneasy about this. Yes this is “coaching” and not the medical field so it’s ok, but let’s revisit this situation in a couple years and see who’s comment aged better. HC got himself a cuddle buddy.

I was about to say this was a dud hire but then I see he’s going to be the assistant distance coach, that’s more fitting.
Athletic.net lists 1 XC result - unable to see the track results
11/17/01 Florida XC State Championships
3 mile = 21:55 PR (so what a 22:40 5K)
This is a dud hire as an assistant!

She was Head Track & Field coach at AIS. (not a middle school coach)

How? What about his resume resembles a dud?

Aside from being a pretty good runner, what has he really done as a coach? Did he have his own group, write training? 4th institution in 4 years... he will be in and out quickly at Cal
any movement on Montana head?

The fact that you don't know the answers to these questions shows how clueless you are you be making those claims. Please grow up.

You’re confusing being clueless with being facetious. He is astoundingly unaccomplished, but obviously well connected. Took WKU job, then left within months to go to Iona. Obviously got that job from Mick. Gets Cal job from connection to Badger alum Bobby Lockhart. Doesn’t matter, he’s got zero charisma or coaching chops, will have a mid-major head job in two years after doing nothing at Cal. Ladder climber, nothing more.
