Maybe Mary needed a young coach to grow with her as the team grew, but was tough on her to an extent (Sean McVay comes to mind, or maybe Matt Nagy for the Bears).

What she got was Jimmy Johnson/Barry Switzer/Rex Ryan/Gregg Williams/Pete Carroll, guys who could massage a veteran team with talent and make them work together but weren't the easiest to deal with.

If all they care about is money and fast times, then Mary's situation was made worse by the Nike Oregon Project.

Vietnamese overall per capita income is around 10% of the U.S.. Multiplying the Nike wage accordingly puts their wages in the ballpark of the U.S. minimum wage of $7.25.
