Let's suppose Rupp is actually clean. Then Kara and her husband should spend the rest of eternity in hell for ruining his victories.

Otherwise, if she is so sure then come out with the evidence already. But this probably means she is just as dirty and should make a confession, public apology, return her medals, give back all her prize money, and do a thousand hours of community service. This would never happen though because she lacks the moral character to do so.

So in short, she should just shut her mouth and move on with her life.

NOPe. It only means NOP-Nike forced the USADA to bend the rules for them. It wouldn't be the first time (e.g. altitude house).

The amount of money the NOP will spend on attorneys will be well over seven figures --Farah, alone, made high seven figures last year. The amount of money at stake for NOP is huge. The USADA may get it hands tied by very expensive attorneys: forced to keep quite until all the delay tactics have been used up, something which could take years, and years, to get through.

If there is innocence, I would expect the lawyers to be protecting the "innocent" against defamation. Makes me believe there is truth behind the assertions.

Rupp and Salazar are not the most likable dudes in the world. They have this sinister Dr. Frankenstein sort of feel to them, with shitty personalities to match. There's no doubt that Alberto has exhausted every means necessary to make Rupp and all of his NOP athletes a tenth of a second faster. But having said all of that, I don't get the impression that they are cheaters. Honestly I think that Alberto did cheat when coaching an elder Mary Slaney in the 90's and I think he learned from that experience.

Kara Goucher just doesn't appear trustworthy to me. She seems like the ultimate feminist bitch on wheels with some kind of axe to grind. She is self serving and slightly delusional. It's hard for me to come to grips with because I have ties to the Colorado team of Wetmore/Burroughs and I think they do amazing work with the CU students and Simpson/Coburn etc.

I just think that Kara is bad news. I don't trust her. I think she's way too emotional and unreliable. Alberto may be doing some cutting edge stuff but I have no reason to believe it's outside the rules. Kara is simply a vengeful, scorned for whatever reason, woman out for blood. Can't imagine how Adam Goucher deals with shit all the time.

Why ask someone questions like these after a disappointing run? If the purpose was to get her fired up it sure worked. Most of your guys' interviews are good, and I thank you for that, but I'm not a fan of drama. I also think the only other f bomb I've heard from an interview with a track athlete is Breaux Greer several years back haha.

Didn't Adam and Kara leave Colorado originally with a large amount of bitterness toward wetmore? They raved about Salazar for years and then flipped on him. Something is strange but i do think part of it has to do with Galen evolving from the innocent younger brother role to the star of the stable with Adam getting brushed to the side. I think there was some jealousy and it manifested in that goucher house in the dark rainy Oregon nights. Those two probably play off each other.

I will just weigh in with this:

Galen Rupp is my favorite runner, probably my favorite athlete in the world. Was and still is. Period.

However, as a journalist and coach, I followed the BBC/ProPublica story on supposed doping at NOP with keen interest. At first, I believed not a word of it, but then I considered a few things:

1) Goucher, and especially Magness, have nothing to gain in slandering NOP, Salazar, or Rupp. Nothing. Magness is a respected coach and scientist, he could have left NOP as he did and still had at least a lukewarm relationship with them. He chose not to go that rout. He chose, as a young coach, to offend one of the greatest coaches in his sport. I cannot imagine why he'd do that unless he really felt something was amiss and he needed to speak up. There is just no reason for him to lash out at Salazar otherwise. The better tactical approach would have been, even if he left NOP on less than great terms, to save face and keep his mouth shut.

2) I'm a journalist. I don't often cover running or track, but I cover soccer a lot. When Salazar's rebuttal to the BBC story came out, all 23 or however many pages of it, I read it. And I had a very uneasy feeling reading it, because as much as I admire Salazar and Rupp, I know as a journalist how people write press releases and other communications when they are hiding something. If you are in the right, you can normally refute something with five pages or far less. You only see people writing dissertations for the press like this when they're trying to weave the entire narrative to their favor. Most sports journalists whom I've talked with on this matter and have read Salazar's missive agree: it reads like a well-structure effort to swing the scales. And yet it overlooks some of the most glaring allegations still.

I really really really like Rupp, and I want to keep liking him, but these allegations do deserve careful consideration. Whomever the truth helps or hurts, I'm eager to hear the results of the official investigations.

I was always a huge fan of Kara and Adam Goucher as well as Galen and the Nike Oregon Project. If Kara is right about this I understand her coming out. I do not understand the fact that she deliberately gives interviews trying to desecrate a victory for Galen and ruin a positive environment of the US Marathon Trials. Her interview turns from her negative emotion into a whiny and blaming interview. She comes off extremely jealous of Galen and as a sore loser trying to steal the attention from the great athletes that qualified for Rio today. My respect for Kara Goucher wether she is in the right or wrong is completely gone and I think she is acting in a way that hurts the sport of running. I hope Nike Oregon Project is clean and that the top 3 men and women go for medals in Rio

I believe the real results will never be known. Agencies create problems with rules that can be manipulated and unfairly used if you have the financial support to gain competitive edge. TEU's provide the 2% that have the resources to play on the edge and have minimal fear of getting caught to tilt the odds. Records today all should have an asterisk next to them since past records did have have the scientific aides that the privileged 2% have today.

I have more respect for the 2:15 plus contestants that made the trials mostly by natural effort than the 6 qualifiers - professional sports sponsors have created the problem and will perpetuate it as long as there are marketing professionals who get paid for generating buzz.

The Olympics are tainted and gold medals are tarnished for me.

Kara is hard to watch in her post OT interviews. She is bad press and everyone is sick of her!
