Update:
I'm 8 days in, it's gotten better each day. My sleeping was terrible to start, night sweats a few times too. But last night was the first night where I didn't completely crave a drink at about 7:30, my usual start time. I can feel a new habit forming, but it'll be a couple of more weeks before its set in for sure. Now I know why treatment is usually 30 days.
Anyone else out there thinking about going back to drinking or giving it up in the first place, just start doing some research on the effects of alcohol abuse. It's all crap you know, but sometimes when you're reading it, it can really hit home. Just don't beat yourself up for past mistakes, water over the dam. The body has an amazing ability to recover. As runners we know that.
