Let Fam in if Webb is in
Let Fam in if Webb is in
This thread is tired, but you know whats worse. I am tired of the idiotic statements here like Webb has a 20% chance of making top 3 in the 5K. No way, no how.
IMPOSSIBLE. Its a .05% chance.

^^^^^^ Post just made my night hahah
"Fam's recently raced 14:31 and 8:52. He hasn't demonstrated trials shape".
Says it all. Times equaling the local 5k winner are not indicative of challenging the worlds best.
2 x Olympian...what have you done lately? Surprised Saucony continues to sponsor him.

Webb also qualified in another event and will already be at the meet. Fam did not.
Makes no sense at all. The issue is capping the number of athletes in a given event, not the number in the meet.
By your logic, can Dix go in the triple jump?

I'm amazed by the number of people on this board who don't understand basic statistics. There are two possible outcomes: 1) Webb makes the team, and 2) Webb does not make the team. Therefore, Webb has a 50% chance of making the team.
You're in day one of the call i take it...

I have no idea what the above is supposed to mean.
Basic statistics indeed!
So by your logic - There are 2 possible outcomes today at the trials:
1) snow falls from the sky, and 2) snow does not fall from the sky. Therefore, there is a 50% chance of it snowing today?
or how about 2 possible outcomes: 1)Giant alien robot zombies convince USATF to let them into the 800 Final (they have a contract with Nike who obviously control USATF) and proceed to sweep the top 3 spots and punch their tickets to London by getting the 'A' Standard in the race despite stopping to throw KD, Greer, and Symmonds all the way to Pre's rock 500m into the race, and 2)giant alien robots do not convince USATF to let them into the 800 Final (they have a contract with Nike who obviously control USATF) and proceed to sweep the top 3 spots and punch their tickets to London by getting the 'A' Standard in the race despite stopping to throw KD, Greer, and Symmonds all the way to Pre's rock 500m into the race. I've always thought that champions should be given the chance to show they have still got it, or get carried out on their shield.
Fam is the defending trials champion, was in the Olympic finals, and coming off an injury ran within 1 second of the qualifyier. I think he deserves a spot.
so ur saying there's a chance,
Classic. And the handle just puts you're post over the top. Brilliant.
FAM WOULD HAVE GOTTEN IN IF ANYONE BELIEVED HE REALLY HAD A SHOT AT MAKING THE TEAM.
WEBB DOES, ALBEIT ONLY A SMALL CHANCE.
