Agreed. That was cool, but seeing Grant destroy a B tier field at 5000 doesn’t exactly scream “grand slam”. This might as well be the old Oxy meet (for this race obviously, other events have been great at this meet).

Most heptathletes start off with a few really strong events and work on the others. Anna gives me the impression they could choose any 7 events and she’d be good at them

I just don't get why we can't get lap by lap splits on the screen. Do whatever you want that is novel and new , but every time they cross the finish line - show me the damn split.
Yeah this part has to happen. At least they were calling it out in the 5k but it needs to be on the screen. If they can do live points they can definitely do splits.
An 8 person 5000 just does not work. Can’t imagine the 3k/5k event group will stick around in this format for next year.
I wonder if they could have a "special format" for the longer races. Maybe pay cash bonus for leaders at each lap, bonus for time in relation to world lead/record/PR. Just do one race like a two mile and shoot for 8 minutes. I don't know. Michael Johnson is not returning my calls. What do you all think to improve the distance, besides bringing in four Ethiopians for distances? Which could certainly improve the pacing.
