All of people calling for DQs for a little contact indoors have clearly never run a race indoors. It’s full contact track and field and that’s why it makes for entertaining racing.
Who's calling for him to be DQed? If you've watched a few editions of USA indoors it's fair to wonder about how the refs will feel about contact that visible.
Who’s got the altitude conversion? Hocker notably has done nothing in his life at altitude
If Hocker can stay healthy all year, he’s going to be in the running for a medal in Paris. By the summer he may be ready to even defeat Yared at the trials. Going to be a great race.
Exactly. That’s why it’s not sincere. It’s forced and fake.
Ah yes she needs avoid using Nikki Hiltz’s preferred pronouns and thus disrespect them for no reason to come across as genuine to the knuckle dragging 50yo white dudes on this website
Because oddly Hocker is pretty underrated by Letsrun these days. Hasn't won a meaningful race since 2021, I think, before today. But clearly in incredible form, and 2023 was a great year given the early injuries.
It’s bizarre. Guy finished 7th in the World with barely any base training, so I’d give him the benefit of the doubt vs the guy who was 6th at USAs. And I like Hobbs, but the hype some times.
Hocker ran a great tactical race. His experience mattered today. He ran on the rail, pure 1500.
It looked like Kessler probably ran about 1520 meters. ...and made about 4 or 5 moves! He either needs to establish his position immediately or learn to relax through the mid laps. Seriously he ran half the race in the third lane.
But he made it, he's in great shape, and he's gained more experience.

Sure. Hocker with the 8:05 probably should have been favored here.
still think if he can get out of his own head, Hobbs is more talented. His 8:39 in HS was the most effortless race I have seen a HSer at that level do, and his 3:34 is worlds better than anyone before or since save Ryun and Webb. But I don’t understand him getting the yips at these championship meets — guy just beat Wightman, doesn’t need to worry about Ciattei. In his interview before the race he said he would race worlds if he made it because he needs championship experience — that couldn’t be more true and I am glad he and Warhurst recognize it. If he had ran the tactical race Hocker did, that would have been a really competitive and close finish between them.
