Straight out of the colonialist playbook, baby! Just like we did it in 'Merica: We like this place! It's got a lot of cool stuff we can monetize! Sorry, savages - this is ours now!!!
Savages!!! Hahahaha...
Tonto: Hmmm, woman mountains rise above
Lone Ranger: Yes, Tonto she certainly has large breasts
Piers Morgan Uncensored is joined by author and historian Yuval Noah Harari, to discuss and debate the ongoing crisis between Israel and Hamas in Palestine, ...
Am I understanding this correctly? Israel exists because people from all over the world simply moved to a place that was already inhabited and said "this land is ours now"?
Shocking that this created conflict!
There have been Jews in that exact piece of land for over 3,000 years. Joshua enters the land about 1300 BC. Jerusalem is the capital of Israel / Judah in 1000 BC. The temple of Solomon (Jewish king) was built around 900 BC. The This is about 1,500 years before Islam. So, yeah. Jews have lived there (along with others) for over 3,000 years. They are one of the “indigenous peoples”.
This is what you get when you force Trump out of office. Senseless slaughter everywhere is great for special interests. Bad for kids.
Trump is the center of your world.
Trump is not the center of the world.
Pretty sure both sides aren’t thinking of him at all.
Sentence in bold is most likely not true. B Netanyahu has a history of playing current U.S. President against previous U.S. Presidents. B Netanyahu likely has told someone in Biden administration, Trump would have done THIS for me or Trump would have done THAT for me.
While this is not accurate, the UN had no business deciding the internal affairs of Palestine. Foreign interference is what it is, no matter what lipstick you put on the pig. The UN was new then, but it's beyond obvious by now that it's an empire's club. Big countries have vetoes and the little countries pick sides between the big countries. Palestine had no chance of fair treatment.
It IS accurate that the UN approved the two state division of Palestine with Jewish and Arab sections. You seem to be under the position that "Palestine" was an Arab country that was arbitrarily split up by big countries in the UN. Palestine was not a country but an area controlled by the Ottoman empire for centuries until they collapsed during WWI. In the aftermath of WWI the British controlled Palestine rather than the Ottoman Empire. On November 29, 1947, the United Nations General Assembly adopted Resolution 181 (also known as the Partition Resolution) that would divide the geographical area of Palestine (controlled by the British) into Jewish and Arab states. Now you can possibly argue that the proposal was not a fair division of Palestine but there was there was no Palestine country being broken up..rather an area called Palestine that was going to be turned into two states.
Jews have continuously lived in that area for thousands of years. Even if you completely discount historicity of the bible, there's no denying anthropological and archeological evidence that Jews and their ancestors are indigenous to the area. Just like what is happening right now, there have been a lot of wars and conflicts so the Jewish population has waxed and waned but anyone who says Jews are non-native to the area and "occupying" is not someone to be taken seriously, either ignorant or a hate filled bigot.
And since this is a running forum I want to add I saw there is a marathon in Israel and when this conflict settles down I want to go run it.

About 45,000 or 49,000, 1916, 1917. As I stated, minor league baseball park population.
Thanks for supporting my claim about Jews living continuously in that area even though you are wrong about the population size!
OP made the claim that "Jews came from all over the world" and took over the "Palestinians" land to create Israel which implies that Jews are not indigenous to the area which is 100% not true. I love studying history and there was no way I was going to let that lie go unchallenged.

You are missing the part where 6 million Jews were genocided. Only around 7 million Jews live in Israel today. The world supported the relocation of the Jewish diaspora to Israel because of this event. Less than .1% of the population of Germany is Jewish today.
The world supported the relocation so they didn’t have to deal with the problem of anti-semitism in Europe. Like… “here, we’ll give you this land, go away and leave us alone. Doesn’t matter if someone else is already living there.”
and now you have a bunch of American kids flying over there as tourists every year on “birthright” while the Palestinians who were actually born there live as second class citizens. Of course, if you point out how messed up this is, you’re a bad person!

WOW . . are you in middle school and haven't made it to history classes yet ?
Palestine was originally the land of the Canaanites and then conquered by Egyptians, then the Hittites, the Assyrians, Amorites, Israelites, Judeans, Babylonians, Archaemenids, Romans, Byzantines, until the Arab Muslims invaded in the 600s.
The Arab Muslims established a series of caliphates that kept collapsing due to internal instabilities. European crusaders seized control for parts of the 1000s through 1200s. The Mamluks ruled from 1200s to end of 1400s, including a very brief several months under the Mongol empire. In early 1500s the Ottomans invaded and ruled until 1800, when French Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte took over for just a year. Mamluks ruled again, then Egyptians again, Ottomans again, and finally WW1 ended Ottoman Empire forever and set a period of British rule.
After WW2, British exited and the UN divided Palestine into Arab and Jewish states. They have been at bitter war with each other ever since.
no notes, the op is just playing dumb or actually just decided to ignore the fact that palestinians were yet another ancestor mixed with an invading group that settled there… also important to state that palestinians are in fact genetic cousins to jews mixed with arabs but nonetheless they literally share a significant portion of DNA

You are factually incorrect so I guess that makes you a bad person. It really doesn't matter to me though if someone believes a false narrative because I just don't give af. However, as far as the current situation goes the one thing I do know is that if Hamas takes over Israel that would be really really bad. If Israel annihilates Hamas and sends them to the virgins that would be really really good. Hopefully civilians don't get hurt but if they do Hamas is 100% to blame since the rules of war are clear that you can't use human shields or store weapons and troops in civilian areas.
The Jews went to a place surrounded by Countries unfriendly to them, Hitler wanted to send them to a huge beautiful Island Country surrounded by water with year round good Weather (Madagascar), just like the British sent people unpopular in Britain (Criminals and critics of Government) to A large Island Country (Australia) a few centuries ago. in retrospect Madagascar was the better location for Jews. Personally I would rather be on a country/Island surrounded by Water, then be surrounded by Countries with Millions of people who hate me and many want to kill me
Would that have been before or after he killed them all?
Before, but it isn't about him, The Point is they should have put The Jews in a Place where they would not be surrounded by people who hate them and many in the area want to kill them.
Bit racist and tendentious to frame Palestinians as Arabs, particularly for a historian who knows about Jewish Arabs. Worse to posit that pact between Israel and Saudia Arabia or other normalisations is relevant to destiny of Palestinian aspirations for homeland / peace.
