Seven or so major NADOs say the system needs changing.
You do not appear to be concerned about cleaning up the sport. What are your solutions? What I see is someone with no solutions.
The NANDOs have said the whatever happens has to be compliant with normal Human Rights laws and proportionality and the athletes expectations in basic society.
I think the costs will have to go up 50% to standstill. Thus my solution is to double the budgets.
It's a simple point but you have trouble getting it. If ingestion of a banned substance is "accidental but unprovable" that means there isn't the evidence that it was accidental. So what are you relying on to make the claim it was accidental? "Faith"? The mere denial of a likely doper? But no evidence, apparently.
I don't rely on anything to support a claim I didn't make.
Why do you not properly read the post you are responding to and then reply within the context of the rules?
All your posts are contaminated by your tautological bias, as the above is, and disregard of the Wada Code.
I realise the Code is neatly 200 pages long with many sub clauses and then separate “ comments” as well but after 15,000 posts you really should make the effort of actually reading it.
You have the intellectual equivalent of Tourettes syndrome. Except intellectual is not quite the right word in your case.
Not a fan, my friend. Learn about an athlete with TS here:
As it happens Wada has warned about consumption of food in Mexico.
yeah because the place is full of authentic Mexican food. that’s why athletes are getting popped over there all the time. more than any other country.
This thread isn't about "use your imagination", but "what have we learned".
Which Mexican athletes would be subect to out of competition testing by the AIU? You won't find something if no one is looking for it.
The consequence of eating "authentic Mexican" food is not that the pork came from Mexico (it didn't), but that some of the burritos for sale included pork offal -- something Americans may not find at Taco Bell or Del Taco, and something known for decades among researchers to produce nandrolone levels higher than WADA's thresholds (usually less than 10 ng/ml, but occasionally as high as 130-160 ng/ml).
In a thread about "what have we learned since", here are some more items I have learned:
- We have seen(from a 2018 WADA study) what you suggest, not in Mexico, but in Kenya which 1) doesn't routinely castrate their pigs, and 2) are getting popped mostly for nandrolone (50 out of 138 busts), by far (second was 18 for cortico-steroids and third was 16 for EPO). This 2018 study covered a 14 year period from 2004 to mid-2018.
- WADA and USADA both explicitly warn about consumption of meat from countries like China, Mexico, and Guatemala which use Clenbuterol in beef, pork, lamb, and poultry.
- More generally, they have recently reviewed a number of substances often found in meat and updated their recommendations in 2021 (see WADA's Technical Letters TL23 and TL24), but neither of these documents apply to nandrolone.
- USADA indicates that these evolving recommendations are a work in progress: "Starting June 2021, WADA implemented MRLs (Minimum Reporting Levels) for a number of prohibited diuretics (...), and livestock growth promotors (...), and will continue to evaluate the need for MRLs for additional compounds should they be directly associated with contamination.
Still in the spirit of "what have we learned", some may also be unaware that the history of the nandrolone threshold used by the IOC, and later by WADA, was controversial as far back as the 2000 Sydney Olympics, and even moreso around 2004, when they reduced the threshold for women from 5ng/ml to 2 ng/ml.
In 2000, before the Sydney Olympics3 out of 4 British sprinting relay members tested positive for nandrolone, and 4 British athletes within a 12 month period. According to another paper from AIU-expert Prof. McGlone UK (and Australia) do not routinely castrate pork.
There are also differences between the population of women versus men. Out of 621 tests conducted by the IOC in the 1998 Nagano Olympics -- 5 athletes tested positive of nandrolone -- all women.
well what I have learned is that every day innocent athletes are getting popped because of food contamination and bad WADA rules…especially Mexicans.
not only that but these athletes have absolutely no recourse to prove their innocence. None at all. It’s impossible. Simply can’t be done. Ever.
WADA = Evil
You are right; as the Wada code says; there is zero defence against contamination.
Absolutely none.
Of course I’m right. No athlete has ever successfully used contamination as a defence. none. ever. you might have read about it but that was just other people using their imagination…which is bad…like WADA
and still thousands of innocent athletes are getting popped. it makes me sad.

They have not successfully used contamination as a defence because it is deemed not to be any defence.

Is that what you meant to say?
pretty soon there’ll be no athletes left to compete cause they all got doped up from food and there’s no way to prove it. I keeps happening. all the time. no way to prove it. never ever been done. ever. almost no athletes left. sad :(

Shelby lied about eating contaminated pork even though it wouldn’t help her case. Silly Shelby. Bad WADA

You clearly have not a clue what you are talking about if you can’t answer a simple question.
